This guy is a butcher. I went for a dental cleaning and hed removed 2 back molars. Left with pain like helll. Found a wonderful dentist who completed what I WOULD NOT LET SJOBERG finish doing. He even broke a dental drill bit while tryi g to get my back tooth out. He kept me gassed so I would be incoherent and not be able to properly address what the heck he was doing to me. Then he yelled at me.

Went to see this guy several years ago, was quoted $8500 for needed dental work. Don't get me wrong, I know I needed some work, but $8500? I got a second opinion from another dentist, $3500. Guess who I went with? And you cant argue quality because that was 12 years ago and I havent needed anything since! BTW, did you know Sjoburg is a big game hunter as well? Check the wall in Cattlemens in Livermore, you'll see some of his trophies.

My family has been seeing Dr Sjoburg for 12 years. I feel he does a great job explaining the procedures and following up with care. My daughter's jaw was receding and she had a narrow jaw. With the use of expanders and bite plates and 2 sets of braces, she has an amazing smile. I don't feel there is a lot of staff turn over, many of the women working in the office have been there for years. I don't feel he's an ambulance chaser. I have always felt I have the option of deciding to pursue treatment as I see fit. I have always been given options and decided of my own free will. I have seen his office evolve and he is always pursuing new more modern treatment and more education. He has 3D X-ray machines and oral digital cameras. This gives him the ability to show me on the screen exactly what he's talking about. Overall, I am very happy having him as my dentist

I was a patient from 1994-2011 (until two weeks ago). All negative info below verified as valid. He is an ambulance chaser & recommends aggressively when procedures are unnecessary so you can max your dental benefits. "Why waste it" IS in fact his exact wording. Except for a few, his office turnover is outrageous. His assistant DO perform MOST of the ortho procedures. Even after 15 yrs he still made me pay 10 days in advance (even on my credit card). They told me $800 out of pocket for a procedure, I got an advanced quote from Dental-$221, showed them, but they refused to do the procedure unless I paid over $800. Then without telling me they let the refund sit on my acct for 18 mos (until I had another out of pocket expense). He refused referral to oral surgeon for my 14 yr old's wisdom teeth extraction; subsequently my kid had an AWFUL EXPERIENCE & premature extraction. He didn't send the Valium or offer the Nitrous Oxide as promised. Ck YELP, he's 2 stars. AVOID THIS DENTIST.

Dr. Sjoberg does have a high turnover rate in his office, which is very common for dentists. His staff is very nice and helpful, but he does have a need for greed....the "fillings" that he said I needed were very questionable and I did not have the work done. Thank Goodness, it turns out I did not need to! He is very nice, but sometimes a little too nice, and it could be taken the wrong way. He needs to be a bit more professional, and concerned with his patients instead of his profit margin!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Sjoberg for over 10 years. I actually find him to be a great dentist, orthodontist and oral surgeon (and am shocked to see these reviews!). My son and I both have braces through Dr. Sjoberg and he has been instrumental in helping us out correcting our bites. My son had phase 1 ortho and I had a TMJ issue. While my previous dentist suggested oral surgery (by breaking my jaw), Dr. Sjoberg opted to put braces on me, correcting my bite (a long brutal process) that took 3+ years. His staff (Janice, Sandra in Ortho) are so wonderful and I have been with them both for 5+ years. Other reviewers, though, are correct as I find staff turnover to be quite high. However, please note that this is my 3rd dentist and I find this kind of turnover not uncommom. I guess my experience do differ but this is my honest assessment of Dr. Sjoberg and his office and practice.

I concur with other reviews here. He drilled 4 of my teeth (two of which are now cracked apart) which another reliable dentist confirmed showed no evidence of needing work, and wanted to do the same to four on the other side, which also did not require work. I never returned for him to complete his damage while he tried to max out my coverage.

My appointments, even for scheduled cleanings are ALWAYS 1 hour late (dont know why or how but is the case) like one of the other reviewers put it "ambulance chaser" of dental care, and I have to agree 500%.

Doctor overtreats and tries to fix every tooth regardless of need. His philosphy is that everyone needs braces. He had high staff turn over in his office. I would avoid his office.
