I didn't want to write a review, but now that my health is worsening, it's time to speak the truth. I was referred to Dr. Barry because I tested positive for ANA, and my symptoms were deteriorating. I even kept notes every day with all my symptoms, dates, and lab test results.

During the appointment, she asked me questions, and I provided responses along with examples. She took notes and then said, I'm not going to conduct any exams on you. If you continue to feel unwell, you can always send me an email or call. She gave me her card. She claimed that I tested positive for ANA because of the medication for that I "take", despite my repeated clarification that I only took one pill per month as needed.

Do not visit this doctor; she refuses to conduct any further investigations, even though she has all the lab results and evidence in front of her.

She is the perfect example of medical negligence and the problem we have with doctors not believing and discriminating women. She should have her medical license revoked. People like her should not be "helping" women

Dismissed all symptoms because of physical appearance and age, was incredibly ableist and derogatory. Truly the worst doctor I’ve had the displeasure of working with.

This review is from Dr. Barry at SOAR--and SOAR has closed in March 2019. If she is at a new practice, she might not have the same nurse.

I just absolutely love Dr. Barry! She is the most genuine listener, and has tremendous understanding for your condition. She has taken me from "zero to hero"! I was in a wheelchair, diagnosed with RA. With no real hope, my PCP referred me to Dr. Barry. Wow! I went to a walker, then a cane. Sometimes just on my own. My independence meant so much to me. We worked together to fibd the right plan towards a better life. Her nurse on the other hand, is quite something else. But, keep records of, my calls, request for refills, voice messages left, plus her awful disposition towards my doctors patients. I've been in the medical field for nearly 40 years, I've heard and seen things. I'm very honest with my doctor, and I do let her know. Her nurse started scolding me for her mistakes! She didn't win that one. Don't be afraid to let Dr. Barry know. Perhaps she's not aware of how many patients she verbally abuses. Doesn't change my thankfulness to my doctor.

Dr. Barry failed to diagnose my condition correctly and prescribed the wrong medicine. She also didn't examine me thoroughly. I have finally been correctly diagnosed by another doctor who spent over an hour with me, told me to stop taking the medication Dr. Barry had prescribed, and put me on the right medication (my condition is much better now). As others have said, Dr. Barry's nurse is rude and condescending to patients and her co-workers. Whatever happened to having a caring attitude towards patients? I found her behavior unacceptable. One time I also overheard her yelling at a coworker in a very inappropriate way. I heard her through the closed door of the examining room I was in. I'm sure everyone around could hear her too.
