I had a very good experience with Dr. Chung, he was very helpful and explained everything to me about my surgeries (3). His staff were very nice and helpful. I myself have found with any Dr. that if you are un-sure of something ask. I asked a lot of questions about my surgeries, because I want to know what is going on and WHY, and what the outcome is going to be. If you do not get the answers you think you need, then like someone else told me....get a second opinion. Dr. explained everything to me before and after.

Got to my appt. early, to fill out new paper work, new patient. Never filled out paper work until after my visit was over. Appt. 10:50am, left 11:30am.(this included xrays) Dr. Chung prescribed medicine for me, never knowing my medical history. I had a heart attack 2 years ago, he was not aware of this, he prescribed a medicine that has very serious side effects for heart patients, told me to call my primary&heart doc for approval to take, (isn't that his nurses job?) Told me different dosage than what he wrote prescription for. He could have cared less about my medical history or me as a new patient.Heart doc said don't take!

I totally concur that Dr. Chung--though extremely self-promoting--is mediocre at best. He completely IGNORED my neighbor's badly wounded wrist (cut bone-deep in a sawing accident). This after a rural ER doctor had stopped the bleeding, sutured & bandaged the hand, and referred "Bob" to a so-called hand specialist for needed surgery on shredded tendons & ligaments. That specialist, Dr. Chung, only looked at the injured hand, noted the expert suturing job, and said everything looked pretty good! The patient had to travel 100+ miles to a REAL surgeon, who fixed the hand and didn't have anything nice to say about Chung.

Whenever I asked for advice, I would not get it. In fact, I asked about shark cartilage supplement and was literally laughed at for it. He said he never heard of it, even though it is actually Chondroitin (cartilage tissue). Any high school biology student knows what a chondrocyte is. This trivial conversation along with two failed surgeries still brings serious questioning about his education(ebay?), experience (or lack of), and practice in general. I had a very tiny fracture in the scaphoid bone, barely visible on the x-rays and he made it much worse. To this day, my range of motion is poor. I received no advice about rehabilitation after sincerely asking. Furthermore, He put me in a cast (full arm) for way too long which atrophied my arm, wrist and drastically diminished blood supply to an already avascular bone. Today, I am a 23 y/o active male with arthritis in the wrist which is mostly scar tissue now with poor circulation. I am unable to do pushups without handles.
