I've been seeing Dr. Frank for about 20 years. I feel he has my best interest at heart and always takes time to answer my questions. I recently took my 84 year old mother to see him and he diagnosed her problem right away. She is forever grateful.

Very short, very rude and he stopped me in mid-sentence using my first name.I came for anemia and he scares me with colon cancer. If I do end up having colon cancer, he is not the one I would like taking care of me.

Colon perforatio, ostomy bag and sepsis resulted from a routine colonoscopy. I had symptoms of excessive gas and pain a week prior and Dr. Frank was informed but stated we would proceed as scheduled. There was an ovary growing into the colon and perforation resulted in two weeks in an induced coma and waking up not being able to walk or talk and this was followed by six weeks in hospital, anemia, physical therapy for the ensuing three years.Noted significant cognitive and foot problems as a result. He tried to blame me by stating I had not taken the required Fleets--untrue. He had previously hospitalized me for diverticulitis and when I reported excessive gas, he should have checked further into these symptoms. I was rushed to hospital where a surgeon removed 20 inches of colon, cleaned out my stomach and filled me with antibiotics and put me into the induced coma. I had six months of an ostomy bag with subsequent recommection. He only saw me a month before the surgery as he was on a cruise.

Best doctor ever. He is to the point, but he listened, took my symptoms seriously and ran all the right tests. After a large (cancerous) mass was found, he went out of his way to help, referring me to all the right people. He always takes the time out to answer any questions I have. He is one of the people who saved my life and I can never thank him enough!

Ok, you know going in that most GI docs have poor social skills, and Barry Frank is no exception. For some reason I have met very very few who want to have a conversation with their patients or even make eye contact. Just too long with their instruments up your backside I expect. That said I had colonoscopy recently and he used the latest methods and seemed a skilled qualified doctor. As I said I won't be inviting him for dinner, but I don't go to a doctor looking for a buddy I am looking for treatment so I give him a high rating.
