I got a referral from the doctor I trust most, my pulmonologist, for a new PCP. I have been with Doctor Alford over a year now. He coordinates ALL of my treatment with Pulmonary, Endocrinologist, Rheumatologist, Orthopedics, Neurologist, and Cardio like I have never seen. He is on the ball with everything I'm going through, has gotten my glucose and weight down, am pulling off of some of my assorted meds, and feel better than I have in decades!
He spends a lot of time with me and I never have to wait more than 10 minutes. I left my previous PCP of 20+ years because I could never get in to see him without having to book 3 months ahead. Dr. Alford can usually see me within a day or 2.
He is aware of my insurance and which labs they recommend and medications that are preferred by my carrier.
I highly, highly recommend Dr. Alford and his medical practice and employees! Always treated with a smile and respect. If they say they will do something, it is taken care of!

My entire family and I have been going to Dr. J. Alford for over 20 years. His attention to details is unmatched. On one occasion when he recommended diagnostic testing, the technicians commented on how perceptive my doctor was at diagnosing my condition at such an early stage. Another time the local area pharmacist told me she hears many good comments about Dr. Alford. One receives the attention necessary for that particular condition when in the exam room. Sometimes this causes a delay in his seeing the next patient. He is aware that he kept you waiting and always apologizes.

Dr Alford, my primary care physician, used to be very attentive to my needs. Recently his office seems to be taken over by a company that appears to control every aspect of it. Due to many health issues I opted to pay extra for his concierge program which I joined a few years and have been greatly pleased until the time the new company took over. It seems to have distracted him from performing the quality care I was accustomed to receiving. He has not counseled effectively with other specialists which has led to errors in diagnosis, prescription drugs, and therapy. Some of these errors could have been life threatening. The specialists had to relay problems to me instead of Dr. Alford. During an office visit now, it seems that all he does is enter information onto his lap top. There no longer seems to be time for me to speak directly to him. This was very different prior to the time the company takeover took place.

They overbilled my insruance and didn't even have the courtesy to explain themselves or even apologize. Be careful of this place. They just want your money.

I was coughing up blood, had significant pleuritic chest pain, had a seizure 2 weeks prior, minor inflammation in a leg vein 1 year prior, no fever and otherwise I did not feel bad. I explained these symptoms to Dr. Alford. He told me I had a virus, to come back if it didn't get better. Coughing up blood cleared up in a few days, the chest pain subsided ~10 days later. Three months later my leg hurt, swelled up and turned purple. Diagnosis was DVT, a severe blood clot in my leg and abdomen that had resulted in a pulmonary embolism, the seizure, the coughing up of blood and pleuritic chest pain. This was literally a text book case of DVT, a major leading cause of death in the US. Naively, I visited Alford with the swollen leg and he treated me as an outpatient. I should have been admitted to hospital urgent care immediately. He then prescribed improper medication dosage complicating my condition. Not enough room here to explain the rest. This guy is grossly incompetent.

Our whole family uses Dr. Alford and has for many years. He has given excellent referrals to specialists and surgeons when needed. His nurse, Jay, is THE BEST. We never wait very long and if something is wrong with one of us, she'll typically squeeze us in quickly.
