I have never left a review for a doctor before but felt I had to in this instance. Dr. Novak is the worst doctor I have ever visited. It's like he hates his job and he doesn't care whether or not he shows it. He is rude, unhelpful, arrogant, did not listen, and would only give me ANY information if I asked him specific questions. But how would I know all the questions to ask?! Absolutely horrible and I do not recommend.

I figured I would put in a review since I didn't see recent ones. Trust me, he has not changed. The first visit went well to schedule shots. When you are in the procedure, he does not walk you through, I swear he did not numb anything felt the whole thing. It was horrible. He yelled at me for moving my legs and told the person he was training it would have gone more smoothly had "the patient" cooperated. He also mentioned in a previous visit that he did not have time to look at my image I sent because he sees over 30 patients a day. He is so rude and arrogant. Guess that's why you get paid the big bucks pal. Too bad so sad. Do not waste your time. Give him a hard pass.

I was referred for orthopedic exam and somehow I was scheduled with Dr Novak Ibelieved he was an orthopedist. He immediately recommended an epidural to treat low back pain. . Ok , then I discover he is an anesthesiologist. I went along with his recommendations as he seemed confident it was the right thing to do and he gave confidence to proceed. After 3 rd epidural we met for follow up . I explained things were better but I still had one area in my hip that hadn’t improved greatly. What he said to me had had me a wreck for several months . He said, we all have aches and pains, your old and and it’s just part of life and you need to accept that. Then he continues that there isn’t anything that he can do for me, and your only going to get worse ! I was shocked to be told to essentially that my case was hopeless. Everything I go to do now makes me worry am I going to hurt myself more and be in more pain and nothing will be available to help me. I am now in the care of an orthopedic doctor, receiving physical therapy and making excellent progress with my condition. Never get an epidural unless a qualified orthopedic surgeon orders it. And follows up with you to direct any and all treatments you receive.

His bedside manner is cold at best..I was supposed to b seen in two wks..it took 2 months. I was unavoidably 4 min late on day of appt and be lectured me of his important HIS time is ..not the months he made me wait!! My time or pain was totally irrelevant. I totally recommend finding a doctor who has compassion for someone other than himself.

I am a nurse and I would agree and then some with the other negative reviews. What you see at the first appointment with this guy is not what you get at all. I injured my back at work and saw him for suspicion of lumbar disc herniation. His presentation at each appointment following the first one was so out of sync with the previous, the history of what had and hadn’t been done ,and the situation in general, that I couldn’t even reasonably discuss my condition with him at my last appointment. Further, upon review of his documentation from each appointment, I was astounded to find that facts and diagnosis were not accurate, full assessments that were not done were documented on in detail and, at my follow up appointment, upon my report of increased pain and intensification of neuro symptoms, he neglected to even do an exam and couldn’t get me out of the office quickly enough. As both a patient and a medical professional, I strongly discourage any patient from seeing this doctor.

I've been going to dr novak for ten years (until I got kicked out of clinic for missing too many appts due to seizures which if anyone who has them knows you CAN'T predict), perfectly nice friendly guy at beginning, about six years in he started to be distant and accuse me of being an addict and suggesting "drug holidays" (even tho I was leaving the country for months at a time therefore was TAKING holidays). He finally ended up reducing me to tears by taking away the one medicine that worked for me and cycling it down to nothing at all, I didn't stay around to see what else he was going to try because in ten years we had literally tried everything, I get chronic DAILY migraines, pain scale one of ten? A twenty literally. For the last few years we never saw him unless we passed him in hall because he would fob us off on his less than experienced interns (who btw would still argue with us). You could do a lot better than this unless the hospital takes drastic measures to fix whatever his attitude problem is.

Rude, unhelpful, uncaring, arrogant, did not listen, actually made me cry in office and emotionally has damaged me for days now with his treatment of me. The worst doctor I have ever seen and would not send ANY person to see him. He should not be practicing medicine or be in any field where he deals with people. A mean, full of him self person.
