Dr. Fontaine is a miracle worker. Posts describing his "bedside manner" are inaccurate. Excruciating pain in my neck shoulder and upper arm disappeared after a cervical injection and stayed away until I fell directly on my shoulder a year and a half later. Excellent, excellent doctor. The person who described him as "thinking highly of himself" should be happy that he does think that way, having performed 5 or 6 thousand procedures with overwhelming success. Like any public practice dealing with the general population, there will always be a variety of "takes" on any situation. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Have been going to this office for over a year for workmans comp. Have had surgery from then and was an overall positive experience until I started seeing Dr. Fontaine. I have a degenerative disk the surgery got rid of the lesser half of my pain and was over a year ago. Because I still have pain and dared ask for stronger pills he treated me like a drug addict, threatened to stop treating me, told me that I need to learn to live my life with the pain. (I'm 25) After a particularly bad weekend where any movement had me screaming in pain my boyfriend went with me to the appointment and asked why more want being done and Dr. Fontaine threatened to kick his as out. He does not care about people his appointments are nothing but him taking at you, not listening or even allowing you to speak and heaven forbid you dare question his decisions.

I was seeing him through worker's comp. Very rude and arrogant. He doesn't have any respect for his patients. Wrong diagnose on my shoulder and right hand pain. He adviced me to do a surgery for my neck because of athritis. Thank god I didn't. I went to a specialist through my primary care and I was sent for MRI anf Nerve test. I found out that I have carpul tunnel and there is a small hole in the tandem of my shoulder that is causing the pain. It is work related. Now the Company terminated me and I am waiting for my visit to the state doctor that is scheduled for July 30th. His report to the workers comp was totally against me. I seeking a lawyers advice after the visit to the state doctor. When in office he says I don't know why you are coming here. You should be going to your primary care. This is not work related. I delivered the nerve test report to him and have never heard anything until now.

Dr. Fontaine was no help to me whatsoever! Between the time I made my appt. with him and I saw him, I discovered I had cancer. His response was basically, come see me when you are done with your treatments. He treated me like I was not a human being. I was trying to ask him some questions and he was standing in the doorway and couldn't get out of the exam room fast enough even though I waited over an hour for my scheduled appt. Don't waste your time at the Northern Calif. Spine institute on any of the doctors there. You will sometimes wait over 1 hour after your appt. I feel bad for the staff there. They do a good job but unfortunately get to hear the complaints from patients who have waited well over their scheduled appt time.

I have worked IN hospitals for 30 years and I have NEVER met a person so full of them self and arrogant in my life. I made my appointment on time and generally, he was on time, however as soon as he walked into the room (2:30pm) his eyes were bloodshot, blurry and he seem highly agitated. He asked me a couple questions and then suddenly - stormed out of the room and after 15 minutes I went out to see what the matter was! Apparently, by me asking him to explain what he can do for me was beyond his ability to handle. I was told I was aggressive and that someone else could see me in his office? ??? I am NOT EXAGERATING; he was standing behind the office manager as though he needed someone to hold him back from assaulting me! This guy (very young) is a piece of work – I would not recommend him to dispense an aspirin.
