I began seeing this doctor in June 2015 as my primary, he seemed to be fine, until I needed to come in to see him a few months later, due to very bad lower back pain, when I called his office I wanted to speak to him to get some feedback 1) his was very upset that he had to come to the phone because he was busy and 2) he refused to see me and 3) he just suggested to see a chiropractor... I am not a child, I know the difference between needing a chiropractor or something much more serious!!! Well little did he know that I took it upon myself and made an appointment to see a spine specialist and they gave me a referral with no questions ask. Sure enough the specialist found I had a spine fracture. I thought I would forgive his rudeness and give him another chance, however, his true colors surfaced again. As a doctor he took an oath, if he can't handle the pressures of his profession, he should turn to another profession or discontinue take more patients if it is getting to "busy" for him. I currently have high blood pressure and he prescribed medication, however , I am in need of a refill I have been taking them for the past 7 months, I noticed I had no refills so I called the drug store and they told me that they would call his office for authorization, when I called the drug store the next day they told me that that I was no longer a patient, now mind you, I just requested a referral to see an eye doctor and they got me one. When I called the office to confirm this they could not find my records, then when they finally did they told me that Dr. Defilippis denied my request for a refill because I have to come in to see him, I told the receptionist that I won't be able to come in until I return for my trip that if they could refill for at least 10 day and they refused. Now based on my knowledge, I should not stop taking my blood pressure mediation because it is dangerous.... If he had any decency he would have called me prior to denying my prescription and could have worked with me to allow me to have 10 days of pills until I returned and I could have gone for a follow up. I am taking him off as a primary! This is why I hate to go to the doctors, it is all about the money.. Why bother taking an oath!!!!

I have been going to Dr. DeFilippis for over 15 years. He is a wonderful caring doctor. He doesn't rush you and will listen to all your concerns. I moved out of the area but would not consider changing doctors. Dr. D is the best.

I just called this doctors office to make an appointment as a new patient and i have never dealt with such a nasty receptionist before in my life. Barbara was her name and she would not make me an appointment because she was getting ready to sign out. I called at 6:40 and the office closes at 7. It would have taken two seconds to book an appointment. I work in customer service and there was absolutely no need for her attitude. I am not one to complain, I never have even written a review about any business. I told her I thought it was ridiculous that she would not make me an appointment and she told me.."then go somewhere else" and hung up. I can not speak for the dr because i clearly didnt get to meet him because his nasty receptionist couldnt make me an appointment but, if he was anything like his staff i obviously would not reccomend him to anyone.

My 91 yr. old mom, who had been a patient of Dr. for 20 yrs. moved to FL. I called Dr. DeFilippis'office and requested that his office call pharmacy in FL to renew her blood pressure medication, as my pharmacy requested.Dr. DeFilippis, himself, got on the phone and spoke to me in a very loud, rude, excited tone,to tell me it was not his policy to call or fax pharmacies.Dr. DeFilippis would rather see a 91 yr. old go without her blood pressure meds than pick up a phone & inconvenience himself or his staff but this is not about his policy. It is about how he spoke to me. I was SHOCKED at his demeanor. He clearly needs an anger management course as I see in the reviews, I was not the first patient he spoke to in this manner. My Mother also indicated that he often spoke to her in this manner and she was very intimidated by him. Totally unacceptble behavior for a Dr. or anyone for that matter.

Both my husband and I go to Dr. D and he is very nice and to the point. He tells it like it is but does it in a kind way. We are both very happy with his services.

First of all, I have known Dr. D for over 10 years and have never found him disrepectful. This man is concerned, caring and dedicated to the good health of his patients. He is stern when necessary (usually when you have put yourself in an unhealthy condition) but is extremely receptive to discussion of your condition and how to "make it better". A routine physical with him saved my life this past week. The man tracked me down personally on the phone (after work hours) and advised me to get to a hospital immediately based on a blood test taken the day before. Thank God he cared enough to actually review the tests he received. Had it not been for him, they may have been one more angel in heaven. My son continues to have a mother because he took the time and cared enough. He can "yell" all he wants, I'll listen. He's the best.

Talks down to you and doesn't like to answer questions. He doesn't validate your comments or put you at ease and is extremely inpatient when you show any initiative in the research of your condition. He makes me nervous and uncomfortable. I'm not going back!

Dr. D is an excellant doctor. He doesn't make you go for unnecessary testing, xrays etc... He could be a little more friendly but he is very serious about his patients. I have been going there for 9 years and feel great overall!
