He implanted the wrong device in me during the first surgery to implant a defibrilator/pacemaker. After second surgery to implant the "correct" device, I received an inadvertant shock. The shock was later determined to be caused by him inserting the leads into the wrong ports in the device. His apology was "Well, they give you a set of instructions, and you do the best you can"? A third surgery had to be performed to correct his mistake. I eventually had the defibrilator/pacemaker removed after a second and third opinion. Illinois Tort Reform prevented us from suing this surgeon. Due to award limits, and the amount of money the insurer had paid for all these surgerys, the lawyers advised that the insurance companys would get all the money. The fact that it took this surgeon (3) surgeries to do what should've been done in one should tell you to get another opinion.
