Just wanted to let you know that I have never met a more skilled, knowledgeable, empathetic, selfless and trustworthy person in my 71 yrs. When I first came to. You and Al during my care you provided provided me with comfort, support, hope during very challenging times. Thanks for never giving up on me! You kept hope alive for me and my family. Your service will never be forgotten! I will continue to highly recommend you, you took excellent care of my son also! You’ve been there through rain, snow, sleet and hail and even answered my call while you were on vacation hiking up in the mountains, no other doctor I know would ever do that! I was happy with my prenatal visits with Dr. Gelfand and he monitored my pregnancy closely (although he could never remember my age or whether i was having a boy or a girl). His staff was always very nice and accomodating. But I was not happy with the delivery. My daughter was not breathing for over 3 minutes after she was born and he did not give her suction until she began to turn blue. He also did an episiotomy without telling me. I don't think he did a good job sticthing me up because the scars from the stiches remained painful for many many months. I don't think I will go back.

He performed a D&C for abortion on me and I was only 8 weeks along. I felt rushed and we didn't discuss any other options (such as vacuum aspiration, which is safer and a perfectly valid way of terminating a pregnancy in the first trimester). However, Dr. Gelfand is very personable and outgoing and makes you feel at ease. His staff at Englewood are very personable as well.

I saw Dr. Gelfand during my last pregnancy. He was thorough and professional at all times. I was high risk and had gestational diabetes so he prescribed a lot of tests and followed me closely. His nurses were great but I also saw him at every appt and he spent as much time as necessary with me.
