In my experience, i have to say the staff is nice, as far as the nurses go, but as for dr carmen, she was real rude. Didnt take the time to understand what i was trying to tell her about my son and was very passive..especially since this was my first time seeing her and we been there twice before. My child will NOT be going back!

Dr. Johnson is great My kids have been going there since birth and I drive over an hour to get there but well worth the wait. My first child was 3 months premature and when we moved to Louisiana we started seeing her she is just amazing. The kids love her. Now her staff leaves something to be desired the front office staff has no personality at all but her nurses are extremely nice. The only down fall is the long wait that you often have and that her main nurse hardly ever answers the phone and when she does she speaks with no emotions. I recall her main nurse worked with my kids and one of the accidentally stepped on her foot she acted like they were trying to kill her. I'm like this is a 5 year olds foot I really don't think it hurt that badly.

My family loves Dr. Johnson and Mrs. Jill. Both are very knowledgeable and caring. With that said, don't recommend EVER trying to call the nurse with a question. She never answers the phone and it takes hours for her to return the call, if she ever does. And it's sometimes difficult to schedule appointments close to the weekend, especially because they're open only half a day on Fridays.

This kids dr is by far the worst in the Opelousas area. If you want a dr who doesn't answer your calls, a dr who takes weeks to inform you of your childs test results or a dr who 9 out of the ten visits doesn't even see your kid but lets her nurses do what she should be doing then feel free to take your kid here. its only a matter of time before her and her staff face charges for malpractice. Try calling her office you will only get to speak to someone if you are trying to make a new appt. don't call if your child is sick because you will be told they only have one nurse and they are busy if you manage to get through her automated phone service at all, which only puts you through to leave a message because they are busy and you'll wait days for them to call back if they call back at all, their excuse oh we only have 1 nurse. you mean to tell me you can't hire someone to answer your office phone? this is rediculous especially for a childrens doctor.

The wait can be extremely long and this is very hard when you have babies and children. Her front office staff can be quite rude when confronted with issues however her back office (nurses) are very nice and easy to talk to. The Dr. herself is very nice and helpful. She treats all the children like they are her own. She has answered any questions and concerns with care and thought. I had an issue once and was very upset with her staff and she handled the situation with poise and professionalism. She has been our child's Dr from birth and Dr. Johnson recognized a problem very early on. We were able to correct the problem before anything major could happen. I fully believe that Dr. Johnson's care and attention to detail caught this problem. I highly recommend her. I just remind people to have nothing else to do on the days of the appointment.
