In 2011, Johnny was my second opinion dr, but bc of his "reputation" he was chosen. He claimed that my meningioma would be taken out with no problems, I didn't have to shave my head, and I would be back to work within a month or so. I had no other frame of reference, so I believed him. I woke up and I couldn't move ANYTHING from the neck down, and he didn't come to see me for rounds, NEVER SAW him after the initial surgery. I was a quadriplegic for a few months. The site got infected and I ended up having a total of 4 surgeries in 6 months and I never got an apology from ANYONE. The resident doctors were much better, and Johnny had already moved to UC Irvine by my final surgery in 2012. I heard he left UC Irvine and was at Swedish when I heard that he was under scrutiny, I consulted with a lawyer who said my statue of limitations had run out. I only had180 days after the initial surgery to file a claim. My focus was on my recovery, rehabilitation, and I didn't realize that I had a time limit and that was the furthest thing from my mind bc I just WANTED TO GET BETTER. I'm furious now that I see he has his license back and am thoroughly disgusted to find that he is the highest paid PERS recipient in the state of Oregon. WTH

Delashaw is a criminal. When he was at UC Irvine he proclaimed to be doing all of these neurological surgeries,, but in reality, his students were performing them wit Delashaw no where in sight. There weren’t enough staff to take care of all of these post surgical patients. I was one of those patients, I stopped breathing in recovery and woke up to brain damage. All the while, Delashaw pretended to not know what was wrong. Seven years later, I’m still trying to figure out how to live with my deficits. Delashaw was smitten with all of the press he was getting at Irvine and lost his way.

You're a horrible surgeon. You almost killed me twice. And let a massive infection take half my skull. I live in agony now. And you refused to remove the screw that came loose from your crap synthetic skull plate only 3 years after finally getting it put in.
Everything they said in your court case was true. You abused the fact that i had great insurance when I was 19 years old.

He reminded me a great deal of my first neurosurgeon. I have nothing but respect for his skills as a neurosurgeon.

He did brain surgery on my 16 year old daughter in 1996. The first doc said she would be dead in two weeks unless the tumor was removed, and he only knew of one dr who could do it. Dr Delashaw explained everything to us, and told us that type of tumor will recur. After a second surgery two years later, he was sure he got most of it. He saved her life. She had regular MRI s and even went to California to see him again for her last one. He said it should never come back. In 1996, very few surgeons operated on the center of the brain. He was awesome, yet very humble.

Dr Delashaw performed surgery on my neck in 2004. He did a fusion and laminectomy C5-C7 posterior. I woke up in the worst pain I have felt in my life. They kept me drugged for 8 days in hospital. Sent me home. I continued to have a pain rated at a 8 or higher. Found staples 3 weeks later on the side of my head. His office argued I didn't have staples in my head. My daughter took me there. Sure enough his PA removed the staples never numbing the area since skin had started growing over them. Of course there wasnt a record of them ever stapling my head for that matter removing the staples.
