Dr. Couvaras and staff were very knowledgeable. As many women, I too have infertility problems, Dr. Couvaras had pinpointed what was wrong, and now my husband and I are able to have a family of our own. I would recommand this Doctor to a friend. Thank you Dr. Couvaras

I truly believe Dr. Couvaras is very knowledgeable in his field and probably helps many women with their infertility struggles. I was not as lucky with my outcome, but as a doctor I would still recommend him to my friends. As far as his staff, they are the worst! Always act like you are bothering them when you call. They never call back with lab results, you always have to call them NUMEROUS times. The worst part is the unprofessional way they relay the lab results (usually the Receptionist reading from your chart). I just read the comment posted from another patient and my experience was exactly the same! I was shocked during the Egg Retrieval that nothing seemed equipped for surgery (like facilies I had retrievals done at in the past). His billing clerk/possible nurse was in the room during the procedure. The Anesthesiologist didn't even stay just gave me the IV and left! I think a least a certified surgical assistant should be there to monitor the patients vitals.

Dr Couvaras seemed knowledgable even though some of the things he had done during procedure seemd a bit questionable and way off line with what other Dr.s have done. Over all, even though he is very knowledgable this place as not very profesional. His staff was terrible and it even shocked me that during implantation he has his assistant/billing clerk/ nure/ everything in the room with sandals on her feet. I do not think she is even an RN but may be wron on that, however I doubt an RN would ever come to the workplace in sandles. I would not recommend this DR for the simple stand point that A his staff was terrible and B if you have insurance that covers this you wtill have to pay a considerable amiount out of pocket for lab fee's because the lab he uses does not partner with any insurance company.

Unorganized. Unprofessional at times. Initially we had confidence in this doctor but now we would not recommend him to our friends.

Every time I call with a question or concern, I am told by the receptionists someone will call me back. Nobody does so I end up calling the office again a few days later. It would be nice if Dr. Couvaras had a voicemail of his own so we could leave detailed messages for him. His nurse doesn't seem to know anything about what is going on and his receptionist is always rude. I will not recommend his practice to anyone. He may be a good doctor but if you don't have a better staff, you'll continue to loose a lot of patients!

Dr. Couvaras is one of the most knowledgable doctors specializing in coagulation and infertility. He asks lots of questions and perform tests that out of the scope of a "normal" doctor to nail down an exact diagnosis. Dr. Couvaras uses this information to devise a custom and innovative treatment plan. I believe that my daughter would not be with our family today if we hadn't had found him. Additionally, Nurse Practioner Catherine Pratt is friendly, comforting and quick to help. She has an outstanding knowledge of women's health and coagulation. I agree with previous reviews that the office staff isn't always helpful; however, if you have clotting disorders, recurring miscarraiges or general fertility problems - this is the doctor to see in the Phoenix area.

I had high hopes about going into his office. The main desk clerk was very polite and quick. The wait for the doctor was long. He asked me a lot of questions, but the only exam I got was when he looked at the back of my neck. He prescribed a medication. I went home, took it, and it made me vomit violently for hours. It took me week to get a response for a test to make sure the medication wasn't causing issues. I was OK, but he refused to switch medications to something else. Then his billing department started calling me. They were saying the visit had to have an approval code, I literally had to call the insurance company and have them call the doctor's office before they would file the forms instead of billing me.

Dr. Couvaras would be great if he had competent office staff. They have no follow through, give incorrect information and make you feel you are bothering them when you call to ask a question. They roll their eyes when you ask a question. It is not a pleasant experience dealing with his staff
