My 78 year old father went to him for some issues. Dr. Waksman ordered a test for him to get done. For the follow up my father went and the doctor asked him why he was there. Really??? My dad explained it was a follow up for the test. Dr. Waksman began to belittle my father bc he could not remember the name of the test. YOU ordered the test!!! Look in his chart!!! Better yet, review your patients charts BEFORE you walk in the room so you are familiar with them. My dad was trying to ask questions bc he's sincerely concerned with his health issues but this man could not have cared any less. He dismissed the concerns and instead told my dad he'd print out two copies of the visit summery, one for him and one to give to his wife when he gets one foot in the door at home and she starts asking a million questions. WHAT??!! What professional talk to a 78 year old man like that? Yes, my mother is going to ask questions. She's concerned about his health as well, so why wouldn't she ask.

As the covering doctor for my father's PCP, he was rude, abrasive, and abusive to me when I called for advice on whether it was time to call the rescue squad and get him to the ER. HE READ ME THE RIOT ACT and never stopped to learn what the problem was: breathing difficulty, disorientation, quick onset of limb pain. Waksman, who never met my father and knew nothing of his case, told me to get him a psych evaluation. My 85 year old father had spent seven weeks in the hospital and was just home one week. I told him I was calling to get his help in determining whether he should go to the ER. He didn't help. The next morning I called the EMTs. He was in the ER, then admitted, for 27 hours before Waksman came to give orders for meds and food. My father was completely unresponsive by that time and in a fetal position. The nurse had to call the Rapid Response Team because waksman did not bother to answer any of the 20 calls made to him. He appeared after I removed him from the case. NEGLECT!!

I LOVE Dr. Waksman (as my primary-care dr.) more than any dr. I've ever seen. The only problem I have with this office is that one of his office staff of 2 (NOT Laura, who has always been kind, helpful, cheerful and professional) is very snotty and acts as though she is doing you a huge favor. Doubt that I could be the only patient who feels this way!
