I am an RN and have had my share of experiences (good and bad) personally and professionally with doctors. Dr. Berson falls into the good experience category. Overall I found her to be kind, compassionate, smart, down-to-earth, and she gets right to the point. My story: My son was having sinus problems. After being treated terribly by an ENT doc and an allergist (rude and condescending bullies), I decided to try Dr. Berson. Her office isn't fancy and brand new but who cares? That is not what matters. The care we get is what matters. All that glitters is not gold. Every time it was well worth the long drive to get there. My son opted for allergy testing and sublingual allergy treatments and he is doing so much better. Finally, the office staff were polite, as was the nursing staff. We moved away this year, but if not for that we would have stayed with Dr. Berson indefinitely.

Wow, The office looks as though it hasn't been upgraded on 60 years, also smells like a porto-john, they expected me to wait 45 minutes when I was early for my appointment, AND they wanted a photo-ID -- what sort of health care provider needs a photo-ID and WHY??? Needless to say I walked out on my appointment.

She's very passionate about educating people on sleep disorders and was the only Dr out of numerous ones I saw last year to provide me a reason for my exhaustion! I look forward to my next visit to learn even more about my condition! And I look forward to some much needed rest! Thank you Dr. Berson!!!!

I find it hard to conceive that Dr. Berson believes I need the huge array of services she recommends, including surgery. So far she has recommended allergy remedies in spite of the fact that I almost never feel affected by anything; a sleep apnea machine; cognitive behavioural therapy; and surgery on a septum that is so deviated as to be essentially dislocated - which other surgeons have feared to touch because of high risk for being left with a hole in my septum - even though I have hardly any problem breathing due to it (miraculously). I am a little concerned about how aggressive she is. I haven't made up my mind whether she knows what she is doing or not, and I think I am going elsewhere for another opinion.

I went to see Dr.Berson for a cough that I've been having for several months. She started talking about sleep and apnea and told me its because I snore. I tried to explain to her that I have no issues with sleep. She refused to listen to anything that I had to say told me I need to loose a few pounds, gave me an Rx for sleep study told me to make 5 appointments to come back to see her every month, started yelling at the staff like animals to make sure I pay before I walk out the door. It was an horrific exprience, I will never go back. Oh and my cough was taken care of by another caring doctor.

i have seen Dr Berson annually for a routine ear exam. Her support staff is thorough and attentive. She always cleans out my ears(smile).
About 2 weeks ago i called the office and inquired about my ears being "stopped" up: i just wanted to get relief because a snowstorm was coming and i did not have the time to take off to get to her office. She generously told the receptionist for me to use an over the counter med that would get me some relief (till i could get in to see her) I don't know about the other comments made.....I think she is a great MD!!!

I was horrified by the Doctor!! I agree with the above complaints...completely rude, doesn't listen and basically doesn't seem to care. I was trying to explain that my head was "not right" I felt "off" and I had pressure in my ear. She checked my ear for a "millisecond" sayed "nothing is there" and told me to stop caffiene, and get a sleep doroder test. I even had my hearing test done there which was fine...I left her office in tears...she knew I was suffering from anxiety from this and was just plaind COLD!! I ended up in the emergency room that night because I couldn't take the way I felt...had a bunch of tests there all checked out - Thank GOD. Still have to follow up with an ENT because they did say they saw some fluid which could make me feel the way I was feeling. NEVER going there again!!
