Dr. Sullivan or "Dr. Bob" as we call him is an outstanding doctor. He has seen my kids for years and dealt with our chronic ear infections, strep throat and croup. He was there when my daughter broke her arm and got her seen by an orthopedist at the hospital in lightening speed. He is kind and compassionate and has a great sense of humor. He has a wonderful way of putting the kids at ease and has always gone to great lengths to make sure that as parents we understood everything. We have the highest confidence in his ability and extensive knowledge. We would without hesitation recommend him to anyone. There is no one finer!

Dr. Sullivan did not understand how to treat my son's condition and referred us to another doctor. The new doctor did not prescribe the correct course of treatment for my son. After my own personal research, I STOPPED having my son being treated with the incorrect treatment - I learned that the best treatment for my son was a "wait and see" approach and that the condition would eventually go away on its own. We followed this approach for 3 months and then Dr. Sullivan got very angry and rude because he didnt like us figuring out the correct treatment for my son by myself. He gave us an ultimatum to go back to the other doctor for treatment - but I refused. Dr. Sullivan then filed a report on me to social services for 'medical neglect'. Social Services has cleared my name - it was most certainly NOT medical neglect, it was clear I was protecting my son from inproper medical care. We now have a new great doctor from UVA who supports the correct "wait and see" approach for my son.

I have only had the displeasure of having my child seen by Dr. Robert Sullivan once. During our visit I found Dr. Robert Sullivan to be extremely unprofessional, unethical, and rude. The method in which Dr. Sullivan carried himself in front of my children, the nursing staff, and other patients was inexcusable. His lack of bedside-manner, and his rude demeanor left my children shaken, and uncomfortable; to the point that my child asked that they never have to be seen by Dr. Sullivan again. Dr. Sullivan's total disregard and apathy for his patient’s well-being was sad, and horrific. The office that employs Dr. Sullivan displayed the same complacency toward my child's well-being, and completely disregarded my compliant on their employee's behavior. I had been a valued client for many years up until my experience with Dr. Sullivan.
