I saw "Dr. James" for 13 months and learned from another doctor that I had three discs almost half way through my spinal cord. Yet I was refused a reasonable amount/dosage of medications. He only spends 2min. with each patient and bring something to tie him up if you need an answer. He had me do the spinal injections, so the first one had me in extreem pain and in bed for 4 days with no relief. When I told him that he said that I would have to get the second one for it to work and if i didn't he wouldn't be able to see me, so then he puts it in a completely different area of my back and MISSED! After 13 months I was finally getting a spinal decompression and fusion on T-9 thru T-12 so 6 days before I went to see him and said "I'm finally getting my surgery!" I'm not joking when I tell you that Dr. James asked me what surgery I was going in for... He really waited for me to tell him as he looked thru my file. I had my surgery and NEVER went back to that quack doc. Now I have a great doctor that actually listens and shows concern for my well being, not just some pos that doesn't care about anything except making the next dollar and he will lose his license for hurting someone, some day!

dr james helped me tremendously,I failed myself to realize that not all medications are for everone but I have nothing bad I can say other than i really wish I could have continued as a patient cause florida demonizes so many things and now I seem to have to start over to find a class of M.D. to match this one, also guess i need to seek the help of a phycoligist cause I wont "doctor shop" MARSHALL

I saw this doctor for about five years. This is Dr. Feelgood. If you're seeking scripts, this is your guy. You do have to be in actual pain, though, with documented injuries. Sexy looking, too. Lots of junkies in the lobby, but worth it because you're in and out. Be prepared to spend money on tests to verify your injury. After that initial expense, it's smooth sailing. Unless you're paying cash, like I did. Spent thousands there, never regretted it.

Was one of the worst experiences of my life. The P.A (female, blond) worked so hard to scare me into thinking my specific pain meds were going to be discontinued "in a year" . well its been two, and this has not happened. I say i paid too much because i have since changed providers and they don't require a copay. made it next to impossible to go on a vacation longer than month. Often he / she "informed me" of DEA rules that were outdated or just plain opposite from the truth. When asked to verify one of my multiple shingles outbreaks, he completely panicked when I (a male) went to pull my pants down to show him. Most unprofessional. Thankfully there are other providers who like their patients to be treated with respect, dignity and prefer not to bully someone who is already terminally ill, with PTSD.

I have been going to Dr. James for over 10 years. He has helped me tremendously! He treats patients to the letter of the law, so if you are just seeking pain meds, this is NOT the doctor to see - he will catch you! I suspect that the bad reviews here are from people who were trying to "get one over on him" and weren't able to fool him. If you are truly in pain, need help, and don't mind following the rules, he is the doctor to see!

I recently moved here from MI, was flying back to see my Pain Manag. Dr there. Was in terrible pain in my neck, kept telling me it was my fibromyalgia for a year and a half I was getting trigger point injections that weren't really helping. My first visit to Dr. James, he found a herniated C 5-6 disk, required different treatments, and within the first treatment, the pain has started to subside! THANK YOU Dr. James!!!

Was my pain Dr. 4 years. 1st year saw Dr. Bee Bee, then he left and I began to see Dr. James. Many times apps. were changed to later dates on day of app.over past few months apps. were changed as many as 4 times in 1 month. Had pain pump put in Oct 12th 2011 then removed Nov 2nd,2011. Stated that I had an infection without verifying 1st. Also no staples to hold incision in back, this was my 21st surgery. Found out from infectious wound care center that there was no infection. Cut my oral meds in half after telling me he would not adjust them until verifying amount of relief of pump. Then wrote on dicharge papers from surgery center i was not to take one of the major pain meds at all. My neurosurgeon asked for dose of medicine to put in pain pump so i could have neurosurgeon reinstall it. He refused to give the information. Also dicharged me when i told him i wanted my neurosurgeon to reinstall my broken stimulator and reinstall the pain pump.Had witness in room of him swearing at me.

Dr. James is, in my opinion, the BEST pain management specialistS in Sarasota County, and in the state as well. He provided treatment which resulted in relief of spinal pain I had from a terrible car wreck in 2003; that relief continues to today! Can't recommend him highly enough!
