Philip Boltin is outstanding. Insightful, skilled and perceptive. Straight to the point when he needs to be, but listens as well. Absolutely brilliant.

Dr Boltin is an incredible medical professional that truly cares about his patients. I've been going to him for over 3 years and he's been nothing short of outstanding. His compassionate approach makes medical care more personable and he's very knowledgeable.

The best bulk-billing GP I have ever seen. The lowered rating is due to the nature of the practice he works at, which is extraordinarily busy and always has difficult patients. Yes, every appointment has been very late but I would rather wait 30 mins than bother with yet another GP who clearly doesn't care/rushes.

This GP truly cares and made a careful but surprising choice not to prescribe me medication for mental health issues, when I am quite sure many other GPs would have. His choice proved to be correct, and I am still rather amazed at the empathy and emotional intelligence he has to have made this choice.

Ten years ago this doctor literally saved my life. Extremely compassionate and caring. During a bulk billed consult which are typically rushed and manic, Dr. Boltin made me feel comfortable enough to actually explain my symptoms to find the correct diagnosis, and took the time to explain the treatment. I continued to see him for years and always got the same quality of care.

waited 45 minutes after the appointment time (and was late to work) only to be told I "worried too much" the very first time I met him... no tests/no nothing, didn't even give me a referral after asking him twice.

Ive never once written a review but dr Boltin upset me so much. Recovering from mild head injury he told me there was nothing physically wrong with me, that it was all psychological, kept asking what I wanted him to do about it in an aggressive tone and to stop working myself up as he made me cry from being so rude. Went to a private clinic today for a 2nd opinion and the doc said I need another 2 weeks off and that my symptoms and recovery are perfectly normal for my injury. My appointment with Dr Boltin was the worst experience with a medical professional Ive ever had: he was dissmissive, uncaring and extremely rude.

Contrary to many other reviews here, I had a negative experience with Dr Boltin. I found him to be judgmental and unsympathetic

Dr. Boltin is far better than the average doctor, but I often had to wait 30 mins - an hour after my scheduled appointment time, then was rushed through. With my numerous health issues, five minutes (whilst worrying about holding people up) just isn't enough. Sometimes I would be called to wait outside while another patient was in the office, or another patient would be waiting at the door when I left the office. Quite a few times, Dr. Boltin took a call from a patient or institution when I was in the office. He seemed to really care, but it just added to the sense of having too much to handle even without me there. When my partner and I scheduled individual appointments (15 minutes each, one after the other), my partner was wrongly called first and was asked to fetch me to join him, so we got 5 minutes as a collective, after waiting forty-five minutes past the first appointment's start time. There were times when Dr. Boltin was on time (or close to) and there was no sense of urgency, but it was in the minority and I couldn't find a day/time that was consistently like that.

The deciding factor for moving on was the misdiagnosis of a nasty rash that had been previously diagnosed via lab results as a staph infection. In a rushed appointment, it was written off as eczema, even when I explained 1) I'd never had eczema there, 2) the rash had disappeared during treatment, 3) it recurred right after the treatment ended and 4) my eczema had remained unaffected throughout. I went back numerous times as it worsened, to no avail. It has since regressed to worse than it was before it was first treated and is proving even harder to treat, let alone cure. I think Dr. Boltin is a capable doctor, but he's got too little time for the amount of patients he has to manage and little slips can have unfortunate consequences. He's such a kind person with excellent intentions, but that can't fix the workload problem. It's notable that the ratings reflect this; it's not that he's not knowledgeable or helpful, it's that he isn't when he has no time, which in my experience is frequent.

Considering Dr. Boltin works in a bulk-billed facility, I can understand why these issues occur. However, it didn't allow me to keep my health under control. If you have chronic health problems or have a tight schedule, I don't think this is the doctor for you. At least not while he's working at Betta Health. Otherwise, you should be fine. If you do choose to see Dr. Boltin and need anything from reception, ask for Sophie. She's absolutely lovely and solved some serious fax mix-ups for me.
