Dr. Toma was dismissive and blamed me for my pain. He implied I was overreacting and to see a psychiatrist. I had hopes for better treatment. He was rude, directive and impatient. My pain is very real and he didnt take the time to listen and fully understand. I expected a higher level of care coming from a specialist.

I found him quick to make a diagnosis but then gave me no information on my illness and no direction to turn to. I was told not to read the internet because there was "a lot of junk" out there. I came to him in severe pain and mental "fog" and confusion and felt dismissed with no more knowledge than I went in with time after time. Medications were filled and off I went feeling frustrated, unheard and very disappointed.

Dr. Toma and Sheila go above and beyond what could ever be expected. When we were away recently my husband became ill and Dr. Toma called back on a Sunday morning in less than five minutes and called the necessary medication in to help my husband until we could get back home. He is compassionate, understanding, comforting and has an excellent bedside manner. He takes the time to talk and answer all of your questions and you never feel rushed through the exam. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is need of a rheumatologist. You just don't find doctors who truly care for their patients like Dr. Toma does.

I trusted his diagnosis and knowledge. When a doctor comes out and says exactly the way he is figures out his diagnosis, I respect that. He is thorough enough and speaks compassionately. He was honest and non-bs but not to the extent of being rude. Since he was so blunt,it helps to make time for the more "in need" patients. Understandable. Concise and to the point but still human.
