I had the most traumatic experience with Dr. Keith Bailey when I was initially diagnosed with leukemia. I was only a child and when he called our home he went directly into his spiel without first ensuring #1 that he had the right phone number, #2 that he was speaking to the right person.... I was the one who answered the phone and he proceeded to tell me that I had Leukemia and would DIE in 2 weeks if I wasn't admitted to the hospital immediately. This happened over 30 years ago and I can still see it and feel the emotion from it as if it were yesterday. I pray that his bedside manner has improved over the years but I am not optimistic that it has. The AMAZING Dr that I started seeing after I refused to see Dr Bailey retired and I went to my final exam as an adult about 10 years ago and he was my only option ....after an almost decent appointment he proceeded to tell my husband (who was not his patient) that he was severely obese and had better lose some weight.
When someone is facing something as terrifying as a cancer diagnosis they need a provider to be caring and compassionate, not cold and impersonal.

Did really listen to what I had to say. Thought he was quick to say things, without listening.
