I have been with Dr Freedman since she took over the practice from Dr Hunt. She and her staff have always treated me top notch. She is busy for sure but between her and the other Dr's they always have found time to see me. I have been very happy with Dr Freedman and hope to have her as my Doctor for many more years. She is knowledgeable, caring and understanding. I being overweight, get plenty of encouragement from her to lose weight . Unfortunately I haven't listened which is my fault.

I went to her for years and it was fine. Until I had no insurance and racked up a bill. I went to see her and she questioned why I hadnt paid my bill and asked why I couldnt pay it if I spent my money on other things. I was appalled and switched immediately.

I work and have two kids, so I really appreciate the location and availability of the doctors at Bowdoin Medical (now Martins Point affiliated). I have found the reception staff and the nurses to be exceptionally friendly and really want to help, though they are often so busy that getting a call back in a timely manner can be a challenge. Unfortunately this has send my kids and I to the ER on more than one occasion. I find her very knowledgeable if I ask specific questions but that she is too rushed to consider all the possibilities beyond the usual possibilities when it comes to treatment. She can be somewhat condescending; for this reason my husband dislikes her and sees a different doctor. She is usually so over scheduled that I have to wait over a month for an appointment with her. Usually I end up seeing one of the other doctors if there is an acute need - which is ok because I actually like them better. Also,l there are ongoing issues getting scripts to the pharmacy..

Took my daughter to ER because of breathing problems (we both have asthma and had the same symptoms). The ER gave her prednisone and it cleared up completely. We had just gotten Freedman before that, but hadn't seen her yet. I went to see her about the same problem and explained my daughter's situation as it related to mine and how prednisone had cleared it up. Nope. She wouldn't listen. Somehow, I was wrong! Flovent was the answer! A month later, my breathing is just beginning to get better. I think kickbacks might be at work here. My wife had a similar experience with her about diabetes meds. She wanted to prescribe Metformin, but we already know that med doesn't work for her. Nope. She is also wrong. Find somebody else!

This woman should not have a license to practice medicine. I am one of at least 5 people who have left her practice in the past year because of not only her ineptitude but her erratic, miserable behavior.

I started going to Dr. Freedman after having a run of horrible doctors. Dr. Freedman and her office staff have always been available, courtious and helpful. Dr. Freedman respects my choices and has never been pushy. She delivered my daughter. We were able to do so without drugs. I felt no pressure either way. She also has been supportive of raising my daughter as a vegetarian. And when I went in for a routine physical, and was feeling down and depressed, she listened and we rescheduled my exam so that she could help me through what I needed to go through. I find her to be one of the most competent doctors that I have ever been a patient.

I went to her 5 years ago looking for a new md after mine retired. had a physical, asked for TSH and told her I thought I had a thyroid problem. Tests were in normal range, but I asked to have antibodies tested. She wouldn't do it told me that the symptoms could be depression. One year later, TSH was up again and I was dx with hypothryroid. two years later, I was dx with Graves disease - which would have been discovered earlier if she had tested antibodies. Listen to your patients! Not everything can be dx by a lab result!
