New in town, I made an appt for a check-up and cleaning, and met only with the hygienist--never even met the dentist. She was friendly, cleaned my teeth, said I had no problems. 2 weeks later, with a horrible, nearly crippling toothache, I called to see if I could make an emergency appointment for that day or the next with one of the 3 dentists listed at the office. I was told that for the past 2 years there had only been ONE dentist at the office; they had never updated BCBS info or yellow pages of this. She said the soonest I could make an appointment was in over 3 weeks. I assured her that this was urgent and I needed to see someone soon, and she was very brusque, assuring me that they absolutely could not see me sooner. I informed her that I would have no choice but to find another dentist--I would go to the ER before I would wait 3 weeks with this pain. She said "That's fine" and hung up. Wow, not recommended.
