Dr. McKay is amazing. Every time I have my appointment she makes sure to "get me in and out" however, she never makes me feel like she's rushing me. She always makes sure to hear out any concerns/questions I might have, but is very concious of my time. She is super down to earth, cares about what's going on in my life, not just my medical chart. I would highly recommend her to anyone on the search for an OB/GYN in the Sioux Falls area.

Dr. McKay took me through my 3rd pregnancy....I love the time she spends with me and my husband , never making us feel rushed and providing a personal touch. Ultimately its her expertise I value, her judgement is second to none as she anticipated several issues dring my first pregnancy and delivered my babies with cool precision. Thanks Dr. McKay!

I saw the midwives, however when my baby went into distress after 30 hours of labor, Dr McKay came in to visit with us as she was on call. We experienced a HORRIBLE birth experience with our first child (in another city) and I was terrified of having another c section. She listened to us, asked about what happened, and read my birth plan. She wanted to do everything she could to make sure that no matter how baby came into the world, that it would be a good experience for us. Even when baby's heart rate dropped and didn't come up, and we had to RUSH to the OR she remained calm and kept my interests in mind. Once she was finished she came to visit with me, let me know why the baby had been in distress (short cord) and that she felt I'd be a great candidate for a VBA2C in the future (as she knew that was important to us) I don't know how she is at regular appts but she exceeded my expectations in our emergent situation.

I love Dr. McKay and find her to be a knowledgable doctor who cares very much about my issues as a woman. The problem with sites like this that Dr. McKay has no place to respond or to make things right with patients who were unhappy. If you're unhappy with your doctor, let her know so that she can do something about it.

Dr. McKay is the best dr. I have ever had the pleasure of doctoring with. I wish she were my family medical doc not just my gyno!She really cares about her patients. It really upsets me to see some of the negative reviews, they are misleading and not at all what I experienced with Dr. McKay. She is the best!

I have read some of the negative comments about this doctor and I honestly cannot believe we are talking about the same person. Dr. McKay was alway kind and friendly and actually sat down to talk to me about ALL my pregnancy questions....probably ones she gets asked a thousand times a day. I always felt important and well cared for. I guess you other people who had issues with her are picky because she is one of the best doctors I ever went to.

Not her fault, but didn't feel like we made a connection. Wasn't overly friendly and seemed rushed. Prefer a more outgoing supportive doc, especially for OB needs.

Dr.McKay was my doctor for my 1st pregnancy and there were a few things I wasn't very happy with. I had a lot of questions and concerns and sometimes rather than answering my questions she would tell me to read a pregnancy book. She often seemed very rushed and didn't take the time to explain things and calm my fears.

I go back and forth on this doctor depending on the visit but overall she is nice, helpful, and takes the time to talk and lets me ask questions. Some visits she seems a little more grouchy or in a hurry but I'm sure she's very busy. She seems extremely smart and doesn't worry me about potential health problems.
