This cretin was the ER-assigned ortho for my wife following a shattered elbow diagnosis that required follow-up surgery. Also, she's a severe asthmatic and over sixty, so there's a real concern regarding COVID. Her allergist stated she should not go in to her primary physician for a pre-op visit and unnecessarily expose herself until her breathing was under control. He said either doctor (primary or Nord) could call him, but neither took him up on the offer. My wife asked about a virtual visit, but the doctor's office stated they didn't know and stalled again.

At this point it's four days after the accident. Neither of the doctors had reached out to reassure or comment on the allergist's concerns, or the time-sensitive nature of the injury. The insurance company (UHC) confirmed that Nord was not a specialist and was not a 'premium' provider (whatever that is). Facing this, my wife called another ortho that had done surgery for her in the past. They refered to another ortho; however, that office later said that she'd have to stick with the ER-assigned ortho and then still later, that the doctor was fully booked. Finally, Nord called to speak with my wife. I wondered why she was in tears. When she told me I was furious and in disbelief: he had said she was "doctor-shopping," and to "keep on shopping." He siad it was a "slap in the face." He accused her of being an addict (he had prescibed oxy-codone for the shattered radius) and that she'd have to settle for Tylenol. When asked what she should do, he said, "I don't know, and I don't care."

This level of unprofessional behavior is beyond anything I've ever experienced or heard before from a doctor. I intend to follow this up and hope that the appropriate sanctions can prevent this type of thing from happening to other patients. I have to believe his staff is aware of this type of behavior.

I have a knee injury. Dr. Nord was a compleate waste of time and money. I would not recommend him to anyone. It took longer for me to pull up my pant leg then he was in the room. I was still trying to ask basic questions as he was leaving the room... He made extra vissits for things he could of told me the first vissit. Very unprofessional...

I had a total knee replacement done by Dr Nord in 5/13. I continued to have severe pain for months after surgery. His only response was that it takes longer for people to heal so he gave me another scrip for oxycodone. My last appointment with him was in 12/13 and I was still having pain that was preventing me from sleeping. He did an x-ray at that time and said everything looked fine and give me yet another scrip for oxycodone. By summer of 2014 I was having severe pain after walking or standing for as little as 30-45 mintues. Finally in 10/14 I asked my primary care doctor for a referral to another orthopedic surgeon. He did the same set of x-rays that Dr Nord had done and told me that the tibial portion of my replacement was tipped and he also felt there was an issue with how my knee cap was tracking. This was causing irritation of the soft tissues. I tried several different NSAIDs as well as 6 weeks of physical therapy with no relief. I was then referred to another surgeon who specializes in complex replacement issues. I am now 4 weeks out from a revision knee replacement and have less pain and swelling than I had months after the original surgery. This doctor found that the original surgery had indeed left my knee tracking very poorly and that the ligaments had not been properly balanced. I feel that Dr Nord did a poor job with my original surgery, and I am equally as concerned that his answer always seemed to be to throw more pain meds at me.

I would not recommend Dr. Nord. I had my knee scoped (meniscus debrided & articular cartilage shaved) & had a lot of complications. Had to have fluid drained off 1 month following surgery & I still have swelling & pain. Worst of all he sent me back to work without restrictions way too soon. My job requires a lot of climbing, squatting, & kneeling. It has been 2 1/2 months since the surgery & I still cannot negotiate stairs without great difficulty at times. The Physical therapists recommended more time off & light duty upon my return to work, but he refused, saying only to call him if I were still having trouble. I am 55 & have arthritis but I can tell you that I have more pain, swelling & general discomfort than when I walked into his office. I wish I had never had the surgery. Dr. Nord seemed to never have enough time to answer any questions, gave no real instructions regarding what to do after the surgery or during recovery. I will never see him again.

I do not recommend Dr. Nord for any spinal surgeries. He performed a lumbar fusion surgery on me. There were several complications, which my new doctor & I believe were due to his malpractice. I required two additional surgeries to clean up the "mess" he made. The doctor I see now worked with him years ago & said he had many complaints then, also. I think this may be partially due to the fact that he doesn't do spinal surgery exclusively. I do know a person who had a minor shoulder surgery by him that had success. My concern is also that he worked hard to "cover up" his mistakes during my surgery to protect himself, rather than just admit a mistake was made & then try to rectify it. I understand that we live in a sue happy world where you must protect yourself to some degree, so as not to be subjected to frivelous lawsuits, but I had no intention of even taking legal action. I simply wanted to be able to function again at a normal capacity. I do not recommend Dr. Nord.
