Dr. Kolbas deliveried both of my daughters, by choice. She is nothing but professional and puts her patients needs and wants first. I found each of my office visits with her to be very enjoyable. She took the time to listen to my concerns and offered her advice on how to make sure I did not go into premature labor. I had complications on my first delivery and I had complete confidence in her abilities to deliver my second. She listened to all of my requests and I strongly disagree with all of the comments posted about her rushing delivery or being pushy. She is looking out for the best interest of the mother and baby. I was scared of childbirth and I felt that she eased my fears while keeping me very well informed of all of my options. The office staff always responded to my messages in a timely manner as did Dr. Kolbas. I'm sad that I am not planning on having any more children for her to deliver. I recommend her to anyone looking for a Dr. who is prompt, listens & cares.

Horrible experience with Dr. Kolbas. She was the one who was on call when my wife gave birth. I felt that Dr. Kolbas was very insensitive. She treats us more as a medical subject instead of someone who is giving birth there. She ignored our birth plan and tried to intimidate us into using medications to speed up the birth. We did that by changing our birth position. She was very rude to my wife. If you are interested in having a doctor that doesn't care much about you as an individual, you may be OK with her, though. However, if you want to have a loving birthing experience, you may have something to regret for life. We complained to the clinic. The clinic did investigation. You can guess what the outcome was. She did everything right. Do you want to take the risk? I wouldn't!

Dr Kolbas was amazing! She is very happy, peppy and just wonderful! She is always on time! I had my first baby January 2011 via c-section. I found out 3 weeks before the birth of my daughter that I would need a c-section due to her being breech and the size of my pelvis. I was a wreck. I went home and researched all my options, emailed Dr Kolbas and asked about them. She called me and spoke to me for 30 mins about all of them, In the end, I decided the c-section was best for me and that's what I did. I loved Dr Kolbas and would definitely recommend her and will be returning to her for any future deliveries! I hate going to the Dr but actually looked forward to my appointments with her! They have you visit other drs in the practice in case they are on when you go into labor and I loved them all just as much!

I agree with previous post that she is very smiley and calm however don't agree with getting all the right information or reading the situation right. During my pregnancy I got VERY different advice from all the doctor in this practice. I wish I had listened to the doctors that were more straight forward and took more cautious route -- Dr. Kolbas was very happy and calm and told us not to worry during each visit -- until the visit I was admitted to the hospital and gave birth 14 weeks early. So if you are looking for smiles she is great.

Dr. Kolbas delivered my first child. I was a little nervous during first prenatal visits because our personalities did not click. She is very smiley and friendly which sometimes made me feel I'm not getting the real story. However, when push came to shove, she was a superstar in the delivery room. All her instincts and prievious advice turned out correct. She probably saved me from a C section. She made the delivery of a big baby very smooth, she was so in charge, cool calm and collected. I will be going back to her with my next pregnancies. Bottom line: good, knowledgable doctor with good instincts and great in the delivery room.

Doctor Kolbas delivered our baby, and was ok, although somewhat rushed, during prenatal visits. Unfortunately, she was very pushy during the delivery. She pushed us very hard for the quickest induction possible even though my contractions were starting already and I could have delivered on my own, were we to wait a little longer, and baby/mom were not in distress. She then broke the water and accidentally cut the skin on the baby's head, causing the baby's heart rate to escalate, and the baby to flail. She never acknowledged this. As a result of increased heart rate, she immediately pushed me towards cesarian, and after the anaesthesiologist was called in and I was being prepped for surgery, the baby finally calmed down, so the c-section was called off. I felt very pushed--unnecessarily--during the whole process. My first delivery (doctor Beth Hardiman) was a MUCH better experience.

Dr. Kolbas was great during my first pregnancy-I was high risk, and ended up with toxemia, and had a premie, who is thriving today. She did not deliver my baby-Dr. Bunnell did. Dr. Kolbas was able to put my husband and I at ease, and efficiently explained everything...if I had more questions, she would take the time to answer in detail. Our second pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and she was great then as well. I am now pregnant again, and aam high risk. I've already had a few issues with this pregnancy, and Dr. Kolbas has been great. I am hoping that she will be on call when I deliver this baby...I really like her calm and soothing demeanor....especially when things get difficult.

Dr. Kolbas delivered my second child, and was wonderful. She was always willing to answer questions. She delivered my 9+ pound baby with no episiotomy or tearing. The staff was mostly helpful, although they could use an additional person at the appointment desk and answering the phones. Every time I called the nurse line with a question though, they returned my call within an hour.
