I have been going to Dr. Ruman for over ten years. When I met her, I loved the fact that she was so enthusiastic about being a doctor. She was informative, compassionate and followed through on many of the topics we discussed during our appointments, such as sending me documentation to see a specialist if needed. After marrying and having a child, her demeanor dramatically changed. She became cold and very judgmental, her bedside manner was so intolerable, that I finally changed doctor's this year. She was downright abusive. For example, when I had my annual check up 1.4 years later, she berated me for 15 minutes on how I had gained five pounds and she "didn't know what was going on." Every annual check up was $1000.00 billed to my insurance company, of which I pay 20%. I HATE doctor shopping, but at the end of the day, doctor's are still providing a service and I would think repeat business should be emphasized. As a former long-term patient, my advice is to keep shopping.

I saw Dr. Ruman for 2 years and actually recommended her to several friends. However, at my last visit, her bedside manner was so poor, that I left her office without asking her questions that I had and feeling completely disrespected. She was rude and extremely unprofessional. I will never go back again.

Dr. Ruman is awesome. I'm a bit surprised at the negative ratings. I've seen her for years and once she seemed annoyed when I was about 5 minutes late -- oh well -- but that's because she is very prompt. She is personable, helpful, a great resource and excellent listener. She's one of the best doctors I've had. I highly recommend her. Other specialists I had at UCLA and Santa Monica said that she is their doctor and that she's fantastic. Also, the Iric Cantor's Women's Center is superb!

I have been a patient of dr Ruman for a several years and have always received excellent care. When ever I visit her she seems concerned about my well being by asking lots of questions and always calls back when I needed to ask a question or needed a persciption. I would refer her to anyone needing a good internist. I find her staff helpful as well.

I really like Dr. Ruman. I am a physician and I have been seeing her for several years and think she is knowledgeable, flexible, and caring. I recently had a urgent medical problem, the staff was able to fit me right in and Dr. Ruman not only reassured me about my problem, but took excellent care of me. I would recommend her highly.

Dr. Ruman was extremely judgemental in the way that she spoke to me. She also had an accusatory tone and didn't seem to believe what I was telling her. I saw her twice, thinking that the second time would be better- it wasn't. Like the last poster said, she had poor bedside manners.

The reason for my poor rating of Dr. Ruman is because I would like to share my experience so that other patients in need do not go through what I did. I went to Dr. Ruman for help during a very trying time and she gave me absolutely zero assistance. My impressions/opinions of her are the following: (1) she definitely does not care about the well being of her patients; (2) does not take the time to listen and understand her patients problems/illnesses; (3) her "beside manner" is extremely poor. I think it is important for patients like me to share their experiences so that future patients (if they wish to be) know what they are getting.

She's a great doctor. Explains well what patients need to know. She reponds to calls when it's really urgent. I recommended her to all my officemates.

Dr. Ruman is a great internist. She is very knowledgable and personable. Her communication style is great, flexible whether you prefer email or in-person discussions. I would recommend her to any other patient.
