Dr. Spier uses the pinpoint laser to treat toe nail fungus. I had (past tense) toe nail fungus for years. While at the beach I used to hide my feet in the sand. I was that embarassed by my green, yellow, splitting nails. Even my grandkids told me my toe nails "looked yucky". I had two treatments with the laser and took Lamasil orally (1 tablet a day for one week, followed by three months off. I did this 4 times.) Bottom line, my toe nails are absolutely clear. Dr. Spier and his staff were always helpful and considerate. If you want your toe nail fungus cleared see Dr. Spier and remember all lasers aren't created equal. It's the Pin Point Laser that makes all the difference.

I have gone to Dr. Spier since 2010. I originally needed to have my toenail fungus dealt with and the laser treatment worked well. I have also had him treat me for plantar fasciitis. The staff have always been friendly and helpfuI AND informative of any costs or expectancies regarding treatment.

my pocketbook was picked clean...i wanted a consult, didn't get one. When i made the appointment, it was an automatic $100.00. After i paid my 1300.00, while i was on the table and dr. spier was lazering my toes, THAT IS WHEN HE INFORMED ME THAT NOT ALL FUNGUS IS CURED BY THIS TREATMENT. in fact, only 75% chance that it will cure my toes. I had had a pedicure 5 weeks prior to the treatment and that is when i recieved the fungus, so i didn't wait years to have treatment. I feel like i was taken advantaged of in every step of this process. i wish i could be one of those patients that love dr. spier, but i want to make sure that others don't have a bad experience like i did. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I had been having trouble with toe nail fungus for about 5 years when I saw an advertisement for Dr. Spier and decided to try his PinPointe Footlaser. The procedure was painless and took about 30 minutes. My toes are looking better each day, and have come a long way since before the procedure this summer.

Paid $500 for laser treatment on one toe nail, did EVERYTHING doctor said, even buying all the "extras" adding significantly to my bill. Came back for post op, all my toes now had fungus. He wanted me to pay another $1500 to have them all treated. No thanks, what a waste of money and time.

I went to Dr. Spier for fungs on my toenails on January 18, 2012. He used his laser treatment on all my toes... I went back 6 months later (June 2012) for a checkup. Looked at the pics from previous and my toes looked EXCELLENT. He is GREAT! I would recommend him to anyone who needs, laser, foot surgery or a podiatrist. If I were not so far away, he would be my primary podiatrist. I would return to him for services anytime. He did a great job and I am very pleased with him and his staff. They are very friendly and courteous. Dr. Spier is very compassionate and caring, never made me feel rushed and answered any questions I had. ~~Margaret (Peggy) Gilley, 6/27/12

After tearing the plantar fascia of my right arch, I sought a provider that utilized the Avicenna high powered laser. Dr. Spier is the only podiatrist in the Baltimore area with this device. I was able to resume distance running 4 weeks after injury, reducing the healing time by more than half. I was very impressed with the Avicenna laser and would recommend it to everyone.

Ok, first, pinpointe is not painless. It hurt like hell. After the treatment, Dr Spier filed down my treated nail so much, most of it fell off within a couple painful days. I kept up with the topical meds (although they are not fda approved for fungal nail treatment), but resisted the uv lamp for my shoes since there was no evidence I found online that it actually worked and I had already blown $500 on the one toenail. Instead, I threw away my old shoes and diligently sprayed new shoes with both antifungal spray and lysol. 6 months later, I went back with no change. He showed me the before picture and was pointing out the ” change”. Clearly, there was none. He blamed the lack of complete transformation on my not purchasing his uv device. I didn't try to argue, and just decided to never come back. I might have forgiven his smugness had the treatment worked, but it didn't. I'll try someone else.
