Maybe this will help people deciding on a pediatrician for their kids. Brought my son in to see Dr Curdo on July 27. He had cough and a little head congestion. Dr Curdo barely looks at him….says his lungs are clear and it’s post nasal drip. Huh. From what? He says allergies. Ok fast forward to 3 weeks later. Still cough with stuffed nose. Now has some breathing issues. Dr Curdo says it’s asthma from allergies. Again allergies…which my son has but never like this. Dr Curdo gives him a 3 day treatment of Steroid for asthma. Doesn’t think the stuffed nose or cough is anything else. I call and ask for chest X-ray. Told me he doesn’t need it. Their diagnosis is asthma. I say then why is his nose blocked. Oh that’s allergies. I say maybe it’s walking pneumonia or something else. We don’t think so he says. The doctor says I’ll give him zpak just in case which is a 5 day steroid for pneumonia. Well a week later still has asthma. Still nose is blocked. Now has headaches. So I take him to walk in. Doctor there says that a 3 day treatment of steroid does nothing and puts him on 12 day course. Also give him chest X-ray. And Covid test. The next day I switched doctors to Dr Nick at Reading Pedi. He sees him the next day. Does a thorough exam and says he probably has a chronic sinus infection. Surprised that no one has thought of this. So much mucus in his nose. And it’s lasting so long. Not allergies. So now on 15 day amoxicillin treatment. It’s Sept 17. He’s had this for almost 2 months and finally is being treated properly. Bottom line Dr Curdo dismissed my sons sickness for allergies. Never did through exam. No throat culture. Wouldn’t even do Covid test until I insisted. Gave him a 3 day steroid treatment which the walk in doctor said was not treating it correctly. Dr Curdo is not a great doctor. Told my son not to lift weights. Didn’t think the Covid vaccine was necessary. Stay away.
