Dr. Curtis is a great. I switched doctors from local rheumatologist to Curtis because I needed an elevation in expertise. He was able to diagnose my condition and prescribe the meds to relieve my pain. I’m pleased with my decision to switch doctors. The staff is friendly and helpful (even recommended a nice place for lunch). Parking is convenient. So far my appointments have run on time, which is important to me. After waiting for over 45 minutes, he never showed up for my appointment. In fact, there were no doctors on hand for the day. The staff must have overlooked his schedule or just plain forgot. I would never return to this office. They seemed like they didn't care, I was in much pain and had to be turned away. Not even the on call doctor would show. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!! I took my file and went somewhere else.

I called and asked if they treated Lyme disease. They said yes, so I came in and discussed my known tick bite/25 years of symptoms/positive lab test/fantastic initial response to my first antibiotics(clindamycin), that ended fibromyalgia(muscle/soft tissue pain) in one week! He ordered another bloodtest. When I saw him again, he walked in the room holding the test results and said, "Good news, you're negative." The test turned out to be an ELISA test, a very weak test which misses most people with Lyme. I repeated my above history. He wasn't interested, nor in the second line of the test results page, which states a negative result does not necessarily rule out Lyme. So I told him I knew what was going on, that insurance companies don't want to pay for meds. He walked out, saying he was going to write a letter to my doctor. I said so am I, which I did, going in to see my primary the next day. It's best to go to ILADS doctors for Lyme treatment. Referrals at www.lymenet.org.
