After moving out of state, I, unfortunately, can no longer be a patient of Dr. Patel's, however, I was under his care for several years. Dr. Patel was always very attentive, listening to my concerns and finding solutions for my Familial Heart Disease. Even if I emailed him in the middle of the night because of a racing pulse, etc. he would reply the very next morning. Dr. Patel is a top-notch physician, and truly difficult to find nowadays.

I had a esophageal echocardiogram. He was rude and rushed the procedure. He ordered the nurse anesthetist to administer medication while I was attempting to ask him questions and even ask her to increase the medication so I would go to sleep. There’s so much more. Stay away from this doctor.

Dr. Patel was extremely caring and thoughtful. After seeing so many doctors, he was like a breath of fresh air. I would recommend him above all others!

Courteous and efficient, his knowledge is extraordinary. A great listener and seems to be on top of your conditions and recent medical history. Seems to be well up on his field and his credentials are excellent.

ABSOLUTELY UNEQUIVOCALLY THE BEST IN HIS FIELD. I AM A PROFESSIONAL ANT TRAVEL THE WORLD LECTURING AND TEACHING. DUE TO MY REPUTATION I CAN BE TREATED BY ANY OF THE TOP PEOPLE AND OR HOSPITALS AND AT NO CHARGE. I HAVE A SEVERE HEART CONDITION AND AFTER BEING TREATED BY THE BEST IN THIS FIELD THERE IS NO CHOICE... DR. PATEL IS THE BEST, IF NOT FOR HIM I WOULD NOT BE ALIVE TODAY. Love this doc! He was personable, caring and authentic. Highly recommend him. His scheduling staff is unfortunately lousy. You might have to call several times to get an appointment, which will tick him off if he is informed.

Biography

“The interest of the patient is the only interest that matters,” states Dr. Philip Patel. “This principle tenant of patient care was taught to me during my training at the Mayo Clinic and continues to be the major principle of my practice today.” Growing up in the Bay Area and raised by a father who is a cardiologist, Dr. Patel was immersed in medicine early in life. “It was almost preordained that I would be a physician, my interest in medicine never waned,” states Dr. Patel. While in medical school he vowed to keep an open mind about pursuing other specialties, but cardiology remained his preference. Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Genetics, followed by a master’s degree in Medical Sciences from the Boston University Graduate School. After receiving his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Patel relocated to the Midwest to complete his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Following completion of seven and a half years of post-graduate training, Dr. Patel relocated to the Coachella Valley and joined Eisenhower Desert Cardiology Center. He remains Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Adult General Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. In fact, Dr. Patel is the only Cardiologist in the Coachella Valley who is both Board Certified and Level III-trained in Echocardiography Level III (includes an additional dedicated year of training). Since joining Eisenhower Desert Cardiology Center, Dr. Patel has held numerous leadership roles, among which are Chairman of Eisenhower’s Quality Assurance Committee for Internal Medicine (2007 to 2013), and Section Chief for the Division of Cardiology at Eisenhower Medical Center (two consecutive terms from 2010 to 2013). Currently, he is the Medical Director of Eisenhower Medical Center Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services, and at Eisenhower Desert Cardiology, he is the Medical Director of the Echocardiography and Vascular Laboratories, as well as Co-Medical Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory.
