Worst doctor I have ever had. Recent annual physical lasted 5 minutes including the 3 minutes he stepped out of the room to check on something. I agree with others he's quick to write a Rx and send you on your way. He seems very rushed every time I have seen him, can't get rid of me quick enough. I seriously question his qualifications. He does seem friendly and smiles, but I have seen no evidence that he cares about his patients health. I've had other very good doctors at Beaver in the past, but they seem to have trouble keeping good primary care doctors, perhaps that's why the keep a mediocre doctor like Dr, Ballou. I can't imagine trusting Dr, Ballou with any serious medical condition, I'm not chancing that, he's been my Doctor for 4 years but has always been the same. I deserve much better, will be making a change, I figure I can't do any worse.

I saw the doctor once. Without seeing x-rays, cat scans or my previous medical record he was able to tell me that I did not have the condition that I had been diagnosed with.

Was referred to him by some colleagues who were medical students. The first appointment seemed rushed and rather than ask me questions, I explained as quickly as I could why I was there and felt like he barely listened to anything I said. The 2nd appointment was even worse I saw the doctor for what felt like 30 secs at which point he wrote a script, gave me a form for blood-work and told me to see a dietitian for high cholesterol (even though it is a side effect of my thyroid condition). I then took my medication for two months and when I called to make an appt was told it would be two months out. They then called and tried to reschedule my appointment on 3 separate occaisions each time further out even though I told them repeatedly that my prescription would run out by then. They never refilled it and now I have tried 3 more times to call and get them to refill it while I am waiting to see yet another doctor. This office is disorganized and doesn't seem to care about patients.

I'd have to say he is like many other Doctors I've had. They don't listen because they are in too much of a rush to get you out of their room. I just wish doctor's would be somewhat interested in what the patient says. He is quick to write out a prescription. I don't like that. However he seems nice enough and always has a smile.

Dr. Ballou is a pretend doctor. He pretends to know about disease processes and medications. He listens to his patients but does not hear his patients. He does not take into consideration a patient's history. He is already writing another prescription before even assessing the patient or listening to the patient. I have had really excellent physicians over the years at Beaver Medical, but sorry, this is not one of them. He has changed my hypertension meds around and added more and my blood pressure keeps getting higher. He will not listen to reason or common sense, nor will he refer to a specialist unless asked to.

Dr. Ballou is very courteous and helpful in providing health care. His diagnosis of my diabetes and treatments have helped me improve my health with this onset of diabetes. His bedside mannerisms are good and to the point. I recently switched to Dr. Ballou as my physician and feel very compfortable with his handling of my medical needs. He has been my girlfriend's physician for some time and she is also very happy having him as her physician.
