Perhaps Dr. Cooley's office-side manner is not the best? I was scheduled promptly for a first visit, seen at the time scheduled, received an astute diagnosis, and given a prescription for a med that has changed my life, perhaps even saved it. My condition and the recommended treatment (consistent with what Dr.Cooley concluded) has been described widely (in peer-reviewed papers), but other health-care professionals had either been unaware (though they should have been) of this literature or else were unwilling to act on it. Thus, in addition to her awareness of the literature and her diagnostic skills, Dr. Cooley had the guts to take action. Signs in her waiting room and elsewhere make it plain that this Dr. does not deal with children or adolescents. Is it possible that her exclusion of these age-groups extends to people who qualify chronologically, but not in other respects?

What a wonderfully helpful doctor. She listens. I appreciated that she understands the side effects of my medications and doesn't want me on anything I didn't need. She explained my conditions and made solid plans for my future. I wouldn't hesitate to send my family and I don't say that often.

This doctor keeps advertising for patients? Because she is HORRIBLE!! I went to her ONCE...and NEVER again. She is rude curt, cold and doesn't care what a patient says. She came into the room, held the door open, while speaking to her staff, saying "I really hate it when patients don't do as the doctor tells them to" and went on a 5 minute rant in my presence. She never even saw I as anemic on my lab tests and that I was hypothyroid. She spent my time and money telling me that she doesn't like it when patients don't do as she tells them and that she considers them 'incorrigible" and would report them as such to their insurance companies and they would be dropped from health care. I hadn't even been in the room more than 10 minutes! I will NEVER return to her. They scheduled another appointment for me, two months out. When they called to remind me, I tried calling them. Their office was closed. I called first thing in the morning then. I still got charged $25 for 'no call, no show'!!!!

I wish I had checked out RateMDs.com before booking an app't with this dr.At my 'new appt' she went over my med history.Due to a poor diet I take supplements. She ranted & raved about how bad they were,"don't call them supplements, call them drugs!" I am an extremely sensitive person & was quite upset by how she went off on me.Then she took my BP & it was very elevated. Then she went off on me about that, told me my heart was going to explode!Again, she really upset me.Just like a prev post said, she's not warm, very cold, like the gestapo.I had a follow up (& very last!) visit yesterday, more of the same except this time she said if I don't get my BP under control within a month "it would be too late" for me.And she makes the patients sign a "Discharge Instruction Sheet",which I thought was unusual. She doubled my BP med VERBALLLY but the receptionist wrote it wront on the sheet,I wonder of that was CYA or really a mistake??Thank you!

She does run late however, she does a through consult and visit and she did not push me out the door just because she was behind. She offered information on my history and my family history that other doctors overlooked.

Cooley refused to see me after I was 10 minutes late, I then requested my medical records immediately, she point blank refused, said I had to wait until Friday--like everyone else, she called the police on me & my husband----she & her staff are less than deligent & prudent in their handling of paitents. She is also currently advertising in the local paper for new patients---be careful

Dr. Cooley made a mistake in my med dosage. She Would not listen to me or the pharmacy. I had to threaten to report her to the medical board to get her to reduce the dosage. But even then she wanted me to put in writing that I requested a smaller dosage. Probably because she had entered the wrong dosage in the record. She called police and lied to them about my behavior when I asked for my records. She seemed to be very agitated and out of control. My husband witnessed everything. It was very upsetting and probably didn't help my blood pressure. I was treated very badly.
