I have been to 5 different rheumatologist and no body helped. I am black and when I went to Dr scarpa he made me feel so at ease, comforting me. I had lupus but my blood was normal .He fave me medicine and spent 45 Min with me. I am now in remission. I do not know of a more compassionate doctor in my experience.

After a 2 hour wait I got to see the "doctor". I'm not black, but he clearly wasn't any more comfortable with me. In fact, he never even touched me. I went there in severe pain, told him I was taking Naprosyn and he sent me home with a bag of samples of more of the same. I'd never go back.

Whatever happened to his medical partner who was indicted on fraud charges (I believe pharmeceutical)? Scarpa was nasty, impatient, and rude. Never go to him; he has no compassion unless it's a case he's interested in.

I have been a patient for about 17 yrs now and I have to say that he has been nothing, but wonderful to me. He does listen to what I have to say and his staff has always been very helpful to me. I am a hispanic female that has been under his care since i was 21 yrs old and it is because of him and his care that I am able to function somewhat. Unfortunately there are days where the diseases win more often, but that is just my body, and he and his staff are always willing to try and help me anyway they can

Went to him several times, because there are not that many specialist in the are. I personally felt he is not the most comfortable around Black patients. Last time I went to him stating I had server pain traveling into my chest he said what do you want me to do about it???In desperation I pulled out a printout with a vascular disease that sounded like my symptoms, in a very nasty and rude voice he stated" I am so sick of patients looking things up on the computer and bothering me with the nonsense, I had six patients today alone that thought they had lupus, computer for patients has become a pain for me, I never went back.

Dr. Scarpa is the best. I have been a patient for over 12 years. He is very caring, has a wonderful disposition, always takes the time to listen to his patients. If it means waiting a little extra time, from my experience as a patient, its worth it
