I've read some of the negative reviews and am so disappointed. Everyone has an opinion, but these negative remarks are ridiculous. You can't please everyone, and obviously the naysayers are the ones who make the most noise.

I have been treated by Dr. Dodge for well over 10+ years. There's an old saying, good things are worth waiting for. It may take awhile to wait to be seen, but when you want to be seen by "the best", then the extra little wait is well worth it.

Dr. Dodge has "always" gone above and beyond what most doctors will do when it comes to courtesy, treatment and filing important reports. The MANY things he has done for me are to many to list, but Dr Dodge has always taken the extra steps any "average" doctor will not do for there patients. The office personal is exceptional as are the nurses, x-ray techs and supporting team.

I highly recommend Dr. Dodge to anyone with neck, spinal, or other orthopedic issues. Please ignore the negative reviews. There is NO better doctor available in the county of San Diego.. His treatment, surgical skills, numerous awards, and published reports and papers will verify every word I have said.

Dr. Larry D. Dodge is simply the best. It is true that he does run late on occasion, but when it's your turn to see him he will not rush you through your appointment and will ansewer any and all questions you may have.

I've been under LD's care for over 15yrs. due to many injuries, and yes he is late most not all of the time. He does not even break for lunch, and I know why after being there so long why! He's over-loaded with patients!! He has given me meds/supplies that W/C didn't auth. that I needed, would refer me for testing to make sure I would need surgery (he's not knife happy),he would offer anything he could to avoid surgery. Sometimes the staff is just trying to keep up with him,and are just "rushed"! Patients come to see him from all over the US/overseas because he's that good! He does spine surgery on our SD Chargers and other teams instead of their team doctors!!! If you have a boo boo on your finger...go elsewhere,if you have a serious spine problem,go see Dr. Dodge.Thank you Larry for all you have done for me old man, julianjim,

You could not find a more competent, caring, compassionate, skilled spine surgeon in the world. He has helped my husband twice and I am also a patient of his. I will trust no other. Yes, he is late but that may be because he is in popular demand and maybe he would be in surgery trying to save someone from permanent paralysis. sometimes his attention is being consumed by someone whining and being rude. he is not superhero but he is a superb surgeon and deserves due respect. If you complainers are unhappy with him or his office, by all means, go somewhere else. I guarantee that you will not find a surgeon as fine as Dr Dodge. I can say that because I have taken care of his patients for over 17 yrs and have not heard one complaint from any of them about this distinguished man.

Dr. Larry Dodge is a scumbag! He is all about his enormous ego and money. If you have an insurance carrier that will pay him alot, then he might, and I say might get interested in doing a surgery, but definitely not in you as a person or one of his patients. If you expect him to actually help you and then stand up to him when he does not, he will lie to you and tell you that he is going to write one thing in the report to your insurance company but will write the opposite just to cause you a problem. What a weasel! Nice to your face, stabbing you in the back before you are out of the door. Just as the others have said here, I too found the staff to be rude. There is a difference between focused and running a people oriented business and being rude. I ditched Dr. Dodge and went to a different doctor. I suggest that you do the same.

Any Doctor as skilled as Dr. Dodge, is worth the wait. Dr Dodge took his time explaining everything to me from day one. He's a doctor, not a magician or a counselor. I think some people have unrealistic expectations. Also, the staff have never been rude, they are focused and running the office, sorry if they don't have time to listen to you cry and moan. Good luck finding a more skilled and diligent surgeon!! Dr Dodge saved me, it took me years to recover and two surgeries....but after my body healed and restored, I am like brand new!! He did it and saved me 100%!! Thank you for giving me my life back Dr Dodge. RH

The doctor is not only late but they tell you to get fully naked when you are just to have your shoulders seen. In my visit the doctor was in and out, his prescription made no sense to what had been going on with me. But, he was out before I could even ask anything. So, I followed the doctor out of the exam room to ask him. What is it going to take to repair my shoulders? Doctor responded, "I don't know what is wrong with you and because I find you argumentative you can leave this office". The doctor does not get familiar with your case before he even gives you guidelines of care. I left in tears. And went to see a lawyer since it was workers comp I was dealing with. My lawyer saw the name of the doc and before I said anything stated, "I don't like this doctor". Reporting is needed, so this doctor does not continue in this manner.

Dr. Dodge is a great spine surgeon, and he tries all the non-invasive therapies before resorting to surgery (if possible). He does tend to run late, but he's worth waiting for.
