When I first "googled" Dr. Locastro I read some mixed reviews. However, I decided to see him and then decide for myself. I couldn't be more thrilled with the results and care I received from the doctor. I would highly recommend him !

While I would not describe Dr. Locastro as "warm" or "fuzzy"- we didn't go to him for a good social time- we went because he's supposed to be the best. He was professional & extremely knowledgeable of our issues w/ my 1 year old son. He was able to explain the situation in terms that I could understand well- and the surgery did correct our problem. If I have any complaint, it was that the nurses were not knowledgeable enough & kept telling me everything was normal when it was very clear that we were having a problem. We had what ended up being an allergic reaction to the prescribed antiobotic- after finally convincing the nurses that we needed to be seen, Dr. Locastro saw me at his office after hours so as not to make my son wait another day or have to go to an emergency room. Overall, I was extremely happy with our experience. To the people who complain that he's just not nice enough- you go to storytime for niceness. You go to a doctor for healthcare.

Dr. Locastro has cared for my daughter for 6 years, with bifocal glasses & 2 eye muscle surgeries. He has always been very professional with my daughter and me, answers all questions, and has provided excellent care. True, he's not "warm and fuzzy", but I wanted a doctor who could save my daughter's vision and he was able to do that with the skill God gave him. I would, and have, recommended him to others.

Dr. Locastro should retire. Check the overall ratings and do your research on "His Knowledge". I hope that poor girls eyes are better. I am sooo glad I made the choice to change doctors.

If you are looking for warm fuzzies, this doctor isn't it. If you are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and who will fix your eye problems - choose this doctor. I went in with headaches, double vision after a retina surgery, and nausea so bad I wanted to throw up, and within 45 minutes he diagnosed, fitted me with prism lenses, and taken care of the issue without more surgery! Sorry to others who had problems, but you have to remember - if you want something to be fixed, you need to do it the doctor's way. Let him be efficient and do his job. I hate to hear that people make excuses for their children acting poorly, then blame the doctor. I think this dopctor was right on and extremely good at what he does.

MY 5 YR. OLD DAUGHTER SAW DR. LOCASTRO FOR OVER A YEAR. HE WAS VERY RUDE TO HER, AND ME (MOM).THERE IS AN INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED AT HIS OFFICE WHEN HE WAS HAVING HER READ LETTERS OFF THE WALL (GOING SO FAST), THE WAY HE WAS TALKING TO HER MADE HER VERY NERVOUS AND SHE GOT QUIET. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME TO HAVE MY 5 YR. OLD "GATHER" HERSELF!!!! HELLO, HOW DOES A 5 YR. OLD GATHER HERSELF! HE WAS SO RUDE! NO NEED TO TALK TO CHILDREN LIKE THAT (KNOWLEDGABLE OR NOT!), WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS DR. NOT TO MENTION HE OVER CORRECTED HER EYE! THAT"S A WHOLE OTHER PAGE OF COMPLAINTS!!!!

My 2-year-old child has special needs with developmental delays and Dr. Locastro was very "short" "impatient" and "uncaring" towards me and my child. He told me before even beginning the exam and before my son even got upset that he "could tell" that he would need to put my son "to sleep" with "general anesthesia" in order to complete my son's eye exam -- (isn't that unethical?? general anesthesia is used in SURGERY, not in a typical vision examination!!)

Dr. Lacastro saw my 1 year old for 2 years. Very rude. Told me to DUCK TAPE both her arms at the elbows for 5 hrs aday so she couldn't grab at her glasses. Would not do this to a child(HELLO CHILDREN SERVICES)I went to a different doctor, THE SCRIPT WAS TO STRONG FOR THIS CHILD! I wouldn't even take my DOG to see him!!!!!!!!

I have two children who both see the doctor. They are now 4 and 8 and have seen him since they were about 2 years old. We have never had any issues with the care our children have received and we have always been treated in a very professional manner. While his office is like any other doctor's office at times they have been behind and we have had to wait, this being said, we have always had our questions and issues addressed and never felt rushed. We did experience an emergency with our youngest, chemical burn to the eye around 18 months of age, not only did he catch the fact that her eye was still full of chemical after a trip to er, which he personally handled and had the inter working with him at the time accompany us back to er to make sure they gave her the attention she needed his follow up care with her was great. Would refer him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and confident doctor.
