Best Surgeon in the world. People are so quick to react today with harmful remarks. This Man, this Dr., has proved his best to humanity and thank God in Heaven we are blessed with these type of people. A title does not make a person. I appreciate all Dr.Neff has done for me and family.

After my mother shattered her hip she was taken to Des Moines where she got Dr. Neff (by default). My sister asked him POINT BLANK before the surgery to repair the hip whether he would replace it if he got into it and thought it needed to be replaced. He assured us that he would. He pinned and pinned and pinned the hip but did not replace it. 6 weeks to the day later at her follow-up ...GUESS WHAT! She coincidentally NEEDED to have that hip replaced. Another surgery, another consult...on and on and on. Unethical, over-utilizing and a complete goof. He actually said to my mom (who was already in very fragile health) "let me go drink a beer and I'll get this surgery started". Hilarious......not. Incompetent.....definitely. I actually had a coworker who once worked with him tell me that she would never in a million years let him touch a member of her family. Can't practice at Mercy anymore so he's now at Broadlawns. Go figure.

STAY AWAY!! The worst doctor I've ever seen. I can't believe he's still in practice. He gave me a cortisone injection in my knee w/o my consent--he just grabbed the syringe and injected it while asking if I was allergic to anything, and said I may be sore later that day. He quickly left and I had to ask the nurse what he gave me, and I was SO MAD to find out it was cortisone since I was still breastfeeding and I'd had those shots before in my foot and knew they weren't a long-term solution. Later that day my knee hurt so badly I couldn't even walk--when that pain subsided, I still had my normal knee pain from before the shot, so he obviously did something wrong. When I got my records, I was livid that he actually recorded that I had a low tolerance for pain (I don't). Of course he wasn't going to take any blame for doing the wrong thing. Look him up on the Iowa Medical Board page and see what he's gotten busted for since 2000--and those are only the ones that got reported.

Wow. Could not have encountered a more unprofessional, low skillled, ignorant, no class, low down individual unless Bernie Madoff or Charles Manson did surgery, too. Unbelievable this piece of scum is allowed to practice medicine. Had knee surgery that "didn't go so well, huh?" as he so eloquently quipped to me as the reason for my constant pain and being in worse shape than I was before. COnstantly insulting me about my weight, rude, would not explain anything, arrogant and just avery unpleasant unlikeable human being. DO not be fooled as he loves to te;; of his over 4000 surgeries because that just means there are that many more unhappy victims of his out here. Terrible job, terrible experience, dispicable "man."

Went to this so called doctor due to pain. Turned out I was later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. He said he knew how to get rid of my pain....go out and buy a gun. That is against every oath as a doctor he took. My attorney said I could report him to the Board but all they would do would slap his hands. Run!!!!! Away from this doctor.

Don't use Dr. Scott Neff. Told me my shoulder would be better in 3 weeks. 6 mounts later I'm seeing another orthopaedic Dr. to advise me on my next step. Much better salesman than a surgeon. Neff lied to me 3 different times.

Cortisone shot lasted a week. Neff's staff schedule me to have injections of chicken comb to replace the fluid in the knee. When notified of the appointment I cancelled because I wanted to talk to my primary physician about effectiveness of the treatment before I commented. Attempted to schedule appointment with Neff after consulting my primary physician. The staff would not schedule an appointment for me. After five phone calls to Neff's office over a two week period I gave up trying to get an appointment. If this is the way Neff treats patients he is treating I would hate to see how he treats people who are not patients under his care.
