Four years after my spinal fusion I feel I almost have my life back. I am gaining fitness, strength and agility. Before my surgery, I couldn’t step off a curb. Incredible man, incredible surgeon. Highly recommend.

After fearing & avoiding back surgery for many months & suffering severe arthritis & sciatic pain, I recently had a partial laminectomy & foraminotomy for spinal nerve compression. I wish I hadn't left it so long & couldn't fault the care, skill & attention I received. From day one I had no leg or nerve pain & have now resumed many activities I was unable to perform. I couldn't recommend this team highly enough including the care at Epworth.

Successful surgery to rectify severe sciatic pain from disc protrusion and ageing spinal problems. Able to stand and walk within 24 hours pain free. Improved from there. Cannot rate caring too highly.

Had l3/l4 lamenectomy in 2007 and L1 in 2019. Was fantastic.

Mr David de la Harpe was recommended by my chiropractor as a highly competent and skilled surgeon. The pain and spasm I was experiencing from nerve root compression was excruciating and disabling. However, within minutes of waking up post operatively I knew the surgery had been successful. As this was revision surgery, it was more risky than had it been the first time round and required a considerable degree of skill to avoid the many complications that could have occurred - particularly a spinal fluid leak. I feel extremely fortunate to have been a patient of Mr de la Harpe’s, he has improved the quality of my life immeasurably and I could not begin to thank him enough. Very highly recommended

I did my research before I decided to have my operation to fuse C5, C6 & C7 I looked at 5 surgeons and decided to go with David De La Harpe and his fantastic team. All his staff were great and very supporting and it gave me confidence that I had made the right choice in surgeons. The results of the operation have been better than I thought was possible all pain and pins and needles have gone and living pain free is out of this world. I have no hesitation in recommending David De La Harpe and his fantastic team, Thanks David you are amazing.

I was very lucky to be allocated Dr De La Harpe for emergency lumbar Spine Surgery, I was admitted via ambulance to the Epworth, has a MRI and he gave me 3 options with 24 hours to make a decision of how to treat the prolapsed L5 disc that was preventing me from standing or walking. I took his recommendation for surgery and from the time I was admitted via ambulance to the completion of the surgery was 48 hours. The pain I was in made the decision for the Microdiscetomy very easy ( I think I told thevambulance officer 11/10), his team, their knowledge and support pre and post op I cannot fault, they made me feel educated around the decision and to agree to the procedure. I was able to walk almost pain free within 24 hours post operation. Dr De La Harpe visited each day to check on me while still in hospital. Although his visits were brief bedside carevl gave me the feeling I was not just another number and he and his team had my best interests in mind before during and after surgery. The google videos of this sort of surgery are dramatic and scare you..... it is not that bad if you get a team like I had, I highly recommend this team!

David De La Harpe saved my life. I was in pain for months before I saw him. When he told me that he knew what was wrong and he would make me walk again pain free, I thought he was just saying this to make me feel better. He is a genius! I did indeed walk pain free, only one day after my surgery. I can't thank him enough.
His bedside manner is fantastic. Once I messed up my appointments with him, showing up 2 says prior to the actual appointment. Not only that, but on this day David had rounds at the hospital. regardless, he saw me. All I had to do is wait a bit.
