His very first comments were how the pcp and pcps in general don't know what they are doing with skin complaints, that they then they prescribe nontheless and leave him in a secondary role and unable to evaluate properly. This may be true, but it's not the way to start a meeting - given that, I had no control over that and still needed help. It also did not help me to have emphasized that 50% of his patients have my same nonspecific complaint which basically tells him nothing so we're all big whiners. In the end, I was told there was nothing to be done. I would have to steer him back from various other asides and editorials to focus on my specific questions and needs. Not a fit for me - he may have the knowledge but he's out of touch with how to communicate it to the person that matters most - me,the patient. I would not recommend him.

I was referred for a secondary infection after a shingles attack. Showed early like asked, was taken back 20 minutes after appt time & an additional 5 minutes in room before he arrived. The whole appointment he was trying to prove my doctor wrong about the shingles and when I said they are taken care of, let's start to treat the other infection...he threw his hands up, said "well whatever", looked through a magnifying glass at my jawline, said it was acne and I should go on a couple months of antibiotics then acutane if it didn't work. The antibiotics never got called in to my pharmacy until I asked my GP to do it. In the middle of my appointment that I felt rushed through to begin with there was a knock on the door and was told they are swamped. When I asked about an ointment or something for the red areas on my face he cut me off and said make another appointment and we can talk about it next time. GP's office said they have heard all this before! Don't refer to him then!

This guy is a waste of my money and time. Ok he prescribed me to accutane. Ya i was happy about that, then everytime i see him, he says the same thing. Oh your face looks good. Then i tell him the problems im having, and all he says is oh its prolly the accutane. Than i asked him to give me cortizone shots, and he keeps saying he cant because my cysts are old. Yet other derms told me they will give me the shot. Also, i had a throat problem and hes obviously a doctor, he didnt even look at it for me. DO NOT GO TO HIM FOR ACNE RELATED PROBLEMS

Fabulous doctor. Extremely knowledgeable, informative, helpful. I've seen him for 10 years to monitor skin issues related to excessive sun exposure in my youth. He's removed a skin cancer & several pre-cancerous lesions and now monitors my skin semi-annually. Outstanding doctor & person

He was very nice during my visit, but he misdiagnosed me, and despite repeated phone calls to try and discuss additional information that had become apparent, he insisted on simply re-prescribing antibiotics and wouldn't see me again. I had these horrible lesions that would appear on my face in exactly the same five spots every month. I finally figured out on my own that I had a reaction to the Naproxen I was taking every month for menstrual cramps, it's a known side-effect, all I had to do was stop taking Naproxen. After the first appointment, the nurses were rude on the phone and refused to consider even letting me make an appointment, they said if the antibiotics didn't work after six months they'd transfer me to the CDC under the assumption I had a resistant infection, without even culturing my skin lesions to confirm. Worst doctor ever.

I love this guy...I've seen him for years. He used to wheel his mother around Greenlake when she was alive. He's a lovely person!

I only went to see him once but was impressed. He stayed with me as long as I wanted, answered all my questions (based on my immediate issue - itchy skin) as well as answered my other questions (how to slow aging, good topical creams, etc). Again, it was only one visit, but he stood out as a knowledgable doctor who liked what he did (and was therefore good at it).

another lawyer here - he didn't say anything offensive re: lawyers in my presence. he's an excellent doctor. VERY knowledgeable. each time I've seen him, he's spent several minutes just chatting with me; in my experience, this is a highly unusual thing for a doctor to do.

Always helpful and knowledge. He only prescribed medication when necessary. Easily the best dermatologist in Seattle. Other doctors I have seen are always impressed and have great things to say about him. I have been his patient since 1991 and have recommended him time and again.
