Nearly 25 years ago I was overwhelmed by clinical depression. after having suffered through several mediocre, at best, mental health providers I was referred to Dr. Wilkey by a highly respected Psychiatrist, Dr. Raymond Manning of Covina, Ca. I am so very grateful for Dr. Wilkey's psychotherapy skills. Through a combination of medication (Prozac) and "wellness" sessions with Dr. Wilkey over a period of approximately four (4) months he was able to guide me through what has proven to be the darkest, most frightening period of my life (I am now 60 years of age). He is a "straight-shooter" and does not pull punches if he perceives the need for a dose of reality. There is no psycho-babble, rah rah moments, or hooray for me mantras in his toolbox. He used logic and share the experiences of other patients to remind me that we all go through tough times and there is light at the end of the tunnel if we choose to follow proven mental healthcare protocols. I feel blessed to have found him at what was the lowest point in my life. Thank for truly good and caring mental health professionals.

Dr. Wilkey is a psychotherapist with a straightforward style. He cares, yes, but can also give you a kick in the pants when you need it. He's a great counselor for gay men since he knows the world they live in and the issues they face. He has a one-man-show in his West Hollywood office, but you'll never miss an office staff. He helped me through probably the toughest period of my life and I hope to see him again.
