When my son was 10 years old he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Dr. Winfield explained the situation in a way that my family could understand and was very knowledgable. He put my fears to rest and my son is now 17 years old, tumor free, and healthy. I can't express enough gratitude to this wonderful physician. His staff is the best around!!!! Dr. Winfield needed to refer my son to another Dr. recently and I am devistated in not having him care for my son. The best Neurosurgen around.

I saw Dr Winfield for back surgery late in 2007. I didn't wait long to see him, he reviewed my back problems to me and he spent a decent amount of time explaining the non-surgical options to me. (I've waited much longer to see other doctors, resulting in my only seeing them once! I am a professional and my time is valuable too!) I opted for surgery and felt great after the surgery. He also treated my husband several years ago and my husband has been doing great since his surgery. I can put up with a little arrogance if it means that I'm getting the best doctor!

This man is rude, condescending and arrogant. No doctor should treat a patient with such disrespect. Had to wait an hour to see him. Exam lasted 5 minutes. He demeaned my radiologist and concluded I was depressed. Do yourself a favor and find another neurosurgeon.

My surgery with Dr. Winfield was excellent. I had two discs fused and a titanium plate attached to my spine. During office visits, he listened and did not assume he knew my story. He explained the physical impact of my problem and the surgical procedures to correct it very clearly with diagrams, models, and notes. He answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed or ridiculous. He clearly explained all of the possible risks. I appreciated his calm demeanor and sense of humor. At the hospital, he was wonderful at helping my mother and sister to relax. They were unfamiliar with hospitals and very nervous. Two months after surgery, I feel better than I ever imagined. My experience with Dr. W was extremely positive.

My original consulation with Dr. Winfield went extremely well. He assessed my situation and spent more than enough time explaining the injury to me in a way that helped me better understand the my problem. My surgery was scheduled within 36 hours after this meeting (I was in real bad shape- with a huge bulged disc at the L5-S1 and pelvic numbness.) Although my appointment was with Dr. Winfield, Dr. Dhawan performed the operation. He works with Dr. Winfield specializing in spinal orthopedics and was everything I had hoped for in a surgeon. I am now 2 weeks post-op and feel 100% better than I did. All of the pain and most of the numbness is gone (can take up to a year for nerve to heal). Follow up care was just good. If you are researching back doctors (like I did for weeks) you should give these two doctors a try. I am not going to make an absolute suggestion because everyone is different, but you should at least give their office a call and see for yourself.

Dr winfield was an excellent diagnostician and surgeon. His MINOS group provided outstanding results with significantly less recovery time than the same surgery performed by another surgeon. His office staff is also wonderful and helpful.

Dr. Winfield and his staff are the sincerest group that i have ever met and worked with. my 6year old son has been treated at his office from birth and he is always willing to spend as much time with you as needed. I trust him 100% They make a scary situation more relaxed and have genuine concern for their patients!!!

Dr. Winfield and his nurse practitioner Margaret are absolutely wonderful. They are always very warm, friendly and willing to answer any questions. They treated my newborn at 3 weeks old. They put me at ease during an extremely difficult time...and I felt confident that my son would receive the best care possible.

Waited too long in waiting room but Dr. winfield spent as much time with me as I needed and answered all my questions. Surgery went well and I am pain free.
