I recently moved here and went to Dr Nguyen based on a personal recommendation. I found her care to be excellent. I then noticed all the comments about how she tries to rack up charges by telling you that you have all types of dental work to do in order to pay for the fancy office. I made an appointment with another dentist in the area, Dr. Maria Martinez. She found basically the same thing with me that Dr. Nguyen found. Dr. Martinez wrote down that I needed 3 fillings vs. the 7 that Dr. Nguyen wrote down. However, Dr. Martinez did in fact note that the other teeth were "going to need fillings eventually". I really don't understand why everyone says that Dr. Nguyen is just out to get your money. If you have good insurance, then she can only charge what the insurance company authorizes for a treatment and nothing more. As for "making stuff up", I did not find that to be the case when I went to a separate dentist a month apart.

Her dentistry is horrible. She is so worried about making money, she is not concerned with the patients needs. I believe she added more procedures than was necessary. She berates her staff in front of patients which is very unprofessional. She tells me that if I do not confirm my appointment she will cancel it. If she is going to cancel the appt then way schedule them in the first place. She is rude and I will never go back to her. At first, I thought she was ok but now realized that she is one of the worst dentist in the Va area, probably in the Country.

She is very knowledgeable. Her staff is a different story, everytime I go it seems she's training someone new. I think she is too harsh and difficult to work with because she wants things done the right way. It is a pain for the assistants but a definite plus for the patient. I'm pretty sure she wants things done the right way, so she is not afraid to call out on mistakes by the staff right when it happens. She also thinks about the patient as a whole. Many times I hear her say " think of the patient as a whole not just the mouth" she picks up on your stress and talks to you and comforts you throughout the process. She is very relaxed and friendly as well.I already recommended her to a couple coworkers and now my sister is going there too.

The dentist was very nice and helpful, but the staff was unproffesional. i specifically asked them to tell me how much the services i needed would be a week before my appointment to make sure i can i afford it, but then on the day of my appt. they increased the amount by almost $100. i decided not to do the service since i didnt have enough $, so they were going to charge me as a no show. i complained to the office manager, but since they are all friends, they didnt take my comment into consideration. The dentist needs to get a new staff!

This is a very good dentist. She is friendly, competent and does her best to put you at ease. The office is clean and tastefully designed. She has steady hands and is concerned with your comfort during the procedure. Highly recommend this dentist!
