Excellent surgeon, explained process, recommended oblation of growth on kidney,operation went as he projected and after followup two years later everything is still o.k. I would recommend him highly.

I was impressed with his genuine concern and attention to details. He was very specific about my personal knowledge level and specifically all my alternatives which he covered in case I might want to change my mind. He and his staff were extremely dedicated, cooperative and there seemed to be no pressure in hurrying me or pushing me in any particular direction. I felt like I had lots of time to sit and think and make a sound decision about my future. It is almost four months after my surgery and I am 100% satisfied with the services I received from Dr Herrell, his staff and everyone I had contact with at Vanderbilt Medical Center. I would recommend Dr S Duke Herrell and Vanderbilt to everyone who has decided to have prostrate surgery. I am not at full capacity in some areas yet but I have faith in Dr Herrell and time is a great healer. I hope this information will be helpful to others in making a quality decision about this type of major surgery.

Dr. Herrell is a urological surgeon, primarily laparoscopic and Da Vinci. He is approachable, has an excellent staff, is thorough, and has excellent statistics for robotic assisted, prostatectomy. Vanderbilt Medical Center is excellent in terms of primary, secondary, and tertiary care. Very supportive surgeon, head of the robotic committee, and one who teaches other surgeons the robotic method.
