I found Dr. McWherter after a search online. I have an agricultural background and know the importance of preventative care. He fits right in with that for me, having worked in the ag world himself before going to medical school. He even ripped off the formula for a DVM formulated horse supplement I was dipping out of the bucket on for joint health so I know his is now great. I was on a local company's supplements because I sold them (still do) and he had absolutely no problem with me remaining on that brand. In fact, he looked them over and told me to add another product of theirs. I have absolutely no issues with him. In fact, my elderly mother started using him too. BTW, this listing has him as an OBGYN. He retired from that. His specialty is endocrinology with the thyroid being his favorite, he said. Top notch in my book.

I adore Dr McWherter! I was a mess when I came to him over 5 years ago. I was taking prescription estrogen for menopause symptoms and it wasn't working at all. Dr McWherter straightened everything out with BioIdenticals and I never felt better. He is a genius in my books. He does have a 6-8 month waiting list and that is because he is EXCELLENT at what he does.He is worth the wait. I have never felt pressured to take his supplements but I do love them and I choose to take them because they work!! I see him twice a year and feel fortunate to have found him.

Dr McWherter delivered 2 of my children in the 90's and he had excellent bedside manners. He then removed a fibroid from my uterus a few yrs ago and I am in perfect health. I love the suppliments they have and I feel great. He has a very friendly staff and I Love Fem Centre!!!!

I literally traveled thousands of miles to see this doctor after having breast cancer and reading his book. His staff was difficult and uncooperative (and not very friendly either), and when I got there, I saw that he was more interested in selling supplements than actually helping anybody! I had difficultly taking some of the supplements and when I asked if I could take something else instead, they were very nasty. If you mention supplements by any other company or provider, you are told that they are no good ~ they are only interested in selling THEIRS. A couple of months later, I received a letter stating that he was DONE with me ~ that he would no longer be my doctor ~ with no explanation whatsoever. This was AFTER I spent all that money to go and see him, and he knew that, but apparently did not care. I would not recommend this doctor to ANYBODY ~ neither he nor his staff have any caring or compassion for anyone!!!

I have been going to Fem Centre to see Gayla for several years. I find her caring, thorough, and helpful. I prefer nurse practitioners in general. I recently saw Dr McWherter with a new diagnosis of Pre breast cancer. I found him to be very passionate about what he does and on target with some information that I had already researched. He spent plenty of time and went over everything in my chart. They do sell supplements, but they are top notch and no one is pushy about buying them. I research the ingredients, and then make my own choices about whether to purchase there or somewhere else, or at all. :). They practice functional medicine here, if it is not your cup of tea, that is ok. I personally don't "buy" into being a guinea pig for the pharmaceutical companies. I would rather eat well, exercise, and supplement with natural products to reach a healthy balance. We live in a toxic world, be pro-active! Good food is wise medicine!

I have been seeing Dr. McWherter for 3 years and I love him! I only see him and the staff has no problem with that request. I am a breast cancer survivor and that is why I went to see him in the first place. I am sure I would be dead by now if not for him and his holistic medical approach. He is about eating healthy, isulin control, weight management. What is wrong with that? His supplements are the best. I have been dealing with incontinence for 10 years, after taking his Pomegranate Powder and Magnesium, i no longer have the problem after one week. I stopped and it came back. My urologist wanted to give me a medication to stop my leakage with multiple high risk side effects. And yes doctors say he is a quack. I will take it. I wish I had met him before they took out my uterus and thyroid. My non quack doctors recommended that. I have not been right since then, until Dr. McWherter got me back on a health fast track!

What good is it to see a doctor that can not see you when you have an urgent need. I asked to speak to his wife (office manager) and she never returned my call. Great doctor but what good is a great doctor that you can not see. Better yet if you have a reaction to one of their products and you can not see them. This practice has grown too quick too fast, is poorly managed and does not do a good job of putting themselves in other people's shoes with regards to issues.
