Guiles is good when she's paying attention, but she's often rushed & running behind schedule: stay on top of your own information or she'll miss important details. Guiles seems pro-patient in terms of information & won't treat you poorly if you ask questions or come in w/information of your own. She's thorough and patient, but that's dependent on her mood. A downside is that you'll wait forever to get an appt. w/her. Beware: Her office RN is AWFUL. Because the Dr.'s usually swamped, the nurse practitioner will field small cases visits on the Dr.'s behalf. Avoid the RN at all costs. She's bungling and given to misdiagnosis. She's not well informed & she's got terrible bedside manner. She's also prescription happy & excessively pro-referral: meaning she "shoots butterflies w/rifles." The office staff could be better but they're overworked, so they can be short on patience & kindness (which is invaluable when you don't feel well). Worst: If you're hospitalized, this Dr. doesn't attend.

I FELT THAT MY DOCTOR CARED ABOUT HOW I WAS FEELING, THAT MY RECENT DIAGNOSIS OF TYPE 1 DIABETES DIDN'T MEAN THE END OF A NORMAL LIFE. I FELT THAT MY DOCTOR HELPED ME REALIZE THERE ARE OPTIONS AND WAYS I CAN STILL BE HEALTHY AND HAVE A NORMAL LIFE LIKE PEOPLE WITHOUT DIABETES. THANK YOU
