Excellent gastroenterologist for my needs. Had some complex needs and he was one specialist who could perform the procedure.

This guy was such a jerk. He told me I'm obese, need to become a vegetarian and cut out a candybar a day and I'll lose weight. During our short 20 minute appointment he looked at his beeper 5 times while I was talking--during which time I explained to him how I am recovering from an eating disorder and that I am on a strict diet and continue to gain weight despite exercising 3-5x a week for a LEAST an hour. What a jerk. I called to complain and ask for a different doctor and was shrugged off being told: he usually has such good bedside manner. HA!

He has been my doctor since 2000 when I was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 24. He speaks English with no accent. He talks to you in a manner that will help you understand. He cares about his patients 100%. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the BEST.

I felt as though Dr. Gunaratnam was not interested in me or my condition. He didn't offer any advice and didn't seem very thorough. I was very disappointed with my experience and left feeling more confused and irritated than helped.
