Dr. Winner has been my primary care physician for many years now, and he is very knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. He listens to you and is very tuned to your particular needs. He is the best primary care physician I have ever had.

At times bemused but responsive and I have found he takes the time necessary. His staff varies from borderline competent to inept. They regularly cannot keep things straight and forget to make calls or follow through without reminders from the patient. This is not new staff.

Dr. Winner has been our family Dr. for over 10 years and we just love him. He really cares about us and has personally called us to check up on us. One of the best family practioners we have ever experienced. Dr. Winner genuinely cares about patients, returns phone calls promptly, and orders all necessary tests. We have found him to be super knowledgeable and friendly. He never has seemed rushed as the previous poster mentioned; in his office, there is never the feeling of a clinic environment where doctors often glance at their watches! In fact Dr. Winner devotes a lot of time teaching stress management to the S.B. community. Extraordinary doctor - would definitely recommend.

Competent, but seemingly always pressed for time. Its hard to get hearing. When one does, he multi-tasks (usually reading or writing something unconnected with the issue) and his end responses make it clear he never heard a word or he half heard and misinterpreted or completely missed the point. Example:- true story Q. Hmmm. Why did Dr. Matthews prescribed Lacornin? (not the real drug name nor other Drs. name) A. For angina. Q. Huh? Lacornin is never indicated for that - go on A. (Related complete story of why Lacornin prescribed while his head buried reading something - never looked up but gave a couple “uh,-huh”s) I finished speaking . . . Silence - he finally looks at my file again - "Good, good . . ." Runs his pen down the open page Q. Hmmm. Why did Dr. Matthews prescribed Lacornin? He had forgotten hed already asked the question, and had not heard a word of my reply.
