Over the years Dr Austin overlooked my fibroids which kept growing affecting my ability to conceive. I am now facing secondary infertility because of the fibroids.

On my first pregnancy I kept bringing my concerns with normal delivery to Dr Austin but was convinced to try it instead of c-section. It turns out I had a terrible delivery, traumatic for me and the baby. Since the birth of my first, and because I am on my late 30's, I've come to see Dr Austin every year in order to make sure all was good for a second pregnancy. I had brought up that 6 small fibroids were found prior to my fist pregnancy. But was never asked for any further exams to evaluate the size of the fibroids. It turns out another doctor asked for a ultrasound and found a giant fibroid inside my uterus which was the reason why I was not able to get pregnant. And if I did, the chances of miscarriage was high. I am disappointed. I thought a ultrasound should have been requested during the yearly check ups.

Dr Austin always made me feel comfortable and was always more than willing to help me with my pregnancy worries (my 1st). I rated punctual as a little lower because I had to wait a lot for some appointments and I had some appointments get cancelled- these things were all do to Dr Austin getting called to the hospital to deliver babies, so I guess I can't really blame him. My delivery went well and he was very attentive to me and loved on my baby girl (even though he didn't have to)- it was a great experience.

While Dr. Austin is great, the wait time for appointments has continued to get worse over the years. For the last three appointments, I waited over an hour, with one being over two hours! Also, of the last three scheduled, I only saw Dr. Austin once; one appointment was supported by a Nurse Practitioner and the other was rescheduled after waiting 1.5 hours (he had an emergency C-section but the office had known about it and let me wait for 30 minutes). For OBGYNs, I expect to wait 15-25 minutes because it happens but not this. Great doctor - horrible wait times.

Dr. Austin was so kind and helpful. My husband and I just moved here and we had no idea who to see. We finally found DR Austin and he has been great. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Austin has been my OB/GYN for 14 years and I truly couldn't like him any more than I do. Not only is he a wonderful, knowledgeable doctor, he is funny, kind, and supportive. The first time I went to see him I was 26 years old and he gave me a tetanus shot. No other doctor had even thought to ask me the last time I'd had a tetanus shot! He delivered both of my children and the experience was wonderful. I have had a child diagnosed with autism during this time and he has not only been sympathetic and supportive, but he has provided information and a family member of his to contact for additional information. He and Gayle are both absolutely amazing people and I feel so lucky to have found them and been under their care.

Dr. Austin was wonderful! I had a C section and I couldn't ask for a better experience with minimal recovery time! He explains your options well and he and Gayle provided excellent care! Avista Hospital was excellent as well!

Dr Austin delivered our first daughter and was supportive of our natural (unmedicated) childbirth desires, as was the nursing staff at Avista (except for one nurse named Lois). Dr. A's nurse Gayle was extremely sweet, helpful and kind. Dr. Austin himself has a wonderful bedside manner. The only problem that I faced with Dr. Austin was that he did not screen me or educate me in postpartum mood issues. To be perfectly honest, his sarcastic take on the psychiatric referral sources being "burnt out or overbooked" (when I asked for his recommendations) made me lose some respect for him. The actual birth experience was awesome, however.

I love Gayle to death and thought Dr. Austin was alright with my first. He missed a lot of things with my second pregnancy and kept dismissing everything as "a second pregnancy". He didn't take the time to listen to my concerns or properly monitor my growth. As much as I love Gayle and the rest of his staff, it's not worth putting your child's life in his unattentive hands.
