Very rude doctor. I was so upset when I left his office. What a waste of a $50 copay.

I have had a very good experience being treated in his office. When I came in I was pretty bad off and they acted quickly and professionally to get the care that I needed. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Pugh is a smart doctor with a wide base of knowledge. He listened very well and asked additional question that furthered my husbands treatment options. He orders additional tests as needed. He is very good at following up with test results. His staff works very effectively with him to make good use of time and patient education. He is direct. He keeps current with research and medical practices. He separates truth from myth and fake science.
He understands many body systems and how they relate -- his education and training as a DO explain this. Dr. Pugh is our GI doctor, yet he referred my husband to a rheumatologist and allergist. Both referrals resulted in HUGE quality of life and medical breakthroughs. My husband used to have his esophagus stretch up to 5 times a year -- now he goes once or twice. My husband has had this stretching done by three other doctors over his lifetime, and Dr. Pugh has the best technique by far -- least painful and most effective. Dr. Pugh understand and prescribes effective medication and lifestyle behavior. Dr. Pugh's appearance is not stuffy or old school-- he presents as a modern and stylish professional.
I was searching for information on a professional in a different field when I decided to look up Dr. Pugh. I now question the validity of these review sites, because the rest of these reviews are so unlike our experience. If you need a GI doctor, Dr. Pugh is definitely the best.

This guy has limited knowledge. Questioned him about signs of liver problems and he was clueless. He also told me I didn't have pancreatitis after the ERvsaid I did, well 2nd opinion and tests show I did have it.. What was annoying was his arrogant demeanor!!!

Very professional and asked all the right questions. He's not a person that chit-chats...probably why some people rank him less than he deserves. SO many people want him to be a shrink too...he's not - he's direct and business like and that works for me!

The first time I went to Dr. Pugh's office I saw his P.A., she was very nice and decided to schedule me for an ERCP. When I went to get the procedure done Dr. Pugh walked into the room looked at my file said "I dont think we need to do this" and walked out. I started crying because I had been in pain for months. In the follow up visit he said that I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome and that I had to live with the pain. But while he was talking to me I felt as if he was talking at me instead. However I refused to accept to live with the pain, so I went to a different doctor and the scheduled the same procedure. They actually went through with it and I have been pain free since.

Dr. Pugh seemed rude and demeaning. He quickly jumped to untrue conclusions about my history as a patient and decided that it was entirely my fault my condition was not improving. He seemed to have decided who I was within the first 10 seconds he was in the room and from that point on exuded an air of superiority and a lack of hospitality and concern like I have never seen in a doctor. He seemed to be too busy passing judgements to even really listen to what I was saying. Although he did have some knowledge which he was able to impart, overall this was a very negative experience which discouraged me from ever seeking help from a specialist again. His appearance was also very unprofessional. He was wearing a very trendy white shirt with no tie and his hair was bleached and highlighted in an unprofessional manner.

Doctor Pugh is a decent doctor. He just doesn/'t do tests very well. I was diagnosed with Irritible Bowel Syndrome. But he didn/'t run any tests to rule out anything else. which bothered me. but other then that he/'s pretty good.
