Dr. Paragus has been unhelpful, disrespectful and just downright rude. My father has been dealing with severe depression, suicidal even and all we get when we call for help is, "what do you want?", "take him to emergency", does not even try to help or find out what the problem is. My dad could have killed himself and Dr. Paragus could have cared less. If anything, my dad is doing worse now than he ever did before this stupid Dr. came along. My advice, find someone else who actually knows what he's talking about and someone who has a personality.

Sought him out for help with depression, had been diagnosed with terminal medical condition. After some time he informed me that nobody dies from it, wrong! Sessions were short, medications didnt help. He is a pleasant, charming man with good bedside manners.

I have been diagnosed with Chronic Depression and ADHA, as well as Agoroaphobia. Having been sent to a total of 5 other psychiatrists, and 3 stays at Lionsgate Hospital, I have been a patient of Dr. Paragas in West Vancouver for several years. I find to him to be an excellent, caring person, who can, work with long discussed issues, and conjoing into a comprehensive coherent response, at a level of understanding on my part, in order to facilicate relection and healing, along with carfefully prescribed medicine.

I found Dr P. helpful in my situation and was very instrumental in my recovery. Always available whenever I needed to see/talk to him. Exemple: I was diagnosed with a cancer he asked a patient of his who I knew to have me call him. I was touched by his concern. I believe he knows his work, his profession. Although we are all different in our illness he has heard and seen many which is what makes him a professional in his field. He is direct and to the point, knowledgeable.

Dr. Paragas has been an excellent source of support and understanding. He deals with issuses in a realistic, straighforward way to get to the root of problems. For those of you who think differently, he simply wasn't the right fit for your particular problem and in no way realistically reflects the true quality of the care he provides.

I did not have any luck with him. He pushed drugs on me rather than finding the root original problem. That's just my Expierence with him. I'm sure he is a good Dr. with heeps of knowledge and experience. It's what ever works for you i guess. My advice to anyone is always get different Dr. opinions. Its no different than taking your car to the mechanic. there is good ones and there are bad ones. the only way you can tell if you have a good one is if you have had a bad one!

For me, Dr. Paragas was a life saver. I saw him during an episode of severe anxiety and he helped me through it. At first, I didn't fully understand his style, but overtime as I have gotten to know him, I know he is a genuinely compassionate and dedicated doctor. He purposely does not coddle you because he knows it's not good for mental health but trust me, he cares. During my crisis, he called me at home several times to follow up to make sure I was okay. He keeps visits light and I have come to really appreciate his sense of humour.

I found him condesending, no help, and no compassion. I left more confused and upset than when I came in. I found him resorting to medicating me and increasing my dosage rather than helping me understand, cope and resolve.

I very much look forward to my visits with Dr. Paragas. I find that his talents are really noticeable when you I am going through a bout of serious depression, (secondary to a rare autoimmune disease), i.e., empathy, good listening skills and a fine sense of humour. I truly appreciate his humour, because by the time I get to see him, (monthly), his humour and lightheartedness help to lift me up. He shows me viable options to challenges, and overall works well with all components of my complicated illness. He is a life-saver!
