I saw Dr. McAvoy and she was very personable, knowledgeable and seemed to be really interested in what was going on with me. There was a minimal wait time and I was able to see her within 35 minutes of arrival. I have to agree with the previous reviews about her staff. They were rude, impersonal, short and condescending. They act like you are invisible. They seem unorganized and scattered, very unprofessional. If I wasn't as confident and laid back, I'd been upset. I just laughed it off, since I had read the reviews ahead of time. I actually feel bad for Dr. McAvoy, since her staff needs a big improvement, and it is a reflection of her. She is a good doctor and I will give it another shot. If I have the same experience, unfortunately I'll have to find another office.

Her professionalism is excellent! She is kind, intelligent, compassionate and forthright. She is very thorough and caring and would make sure to follow up on her patients always and extends herself beyond the scope of her duties. She is also very good at easing anxieties with her gentle, calm and cool manner. I'm blessed to have found her because I would've died if she didn't find out about my low blood count. I went to another doctor prior to going to Dr. McAvoy about my bleeding but all I got were pills. I was symptomatic so she checked my blood count and I had gotten blood transfusions as advised. I feel great now. May God bless her always!

Horrible experience. Impatient, condescending and rude. 19th century approach where the patient has no right to information. No willingness to take the time to discuss with the patient and explain the issue/proposed surgery/types of medication. constant miscommunication with the colleagues within her team. Decided to perform surgery "because it was unclear what the issue is", and arguing was no option. Shocked.

Dr. McAvoy and her reception area are unprofessional and uncaring. I had a scheduled appointment at her office and then found out that she would not take me on as a patient due to my being a high risk pregnancy. The days prior, I was in the hospital due to a severe blood clot and during that time she received the report of my condition, knowing I would be in pain. Her assistant called before the appointment and failed to mention not to come in. To “make up” for it, when I got there she recommended a colleague and some referrals but I wish she would have just told me to not come in.Her staff was uncaring and rude. I was in pain and on crutches and went to hand the paperwork to a person at the front desk and she directed me to someone else. She could have just passed the clipboard to that person. On top of it, there was someone in the waiting room drinking beer under a brown paper bag. I will never go back to the office or recommend Dr. McAvoy to anyone looking for an OBGYN.

My experience with dr. Mcavoy was limited but absolutely terrible. I spoke with her at ER where I was due to a possible ectopic pregnancy. She was extremely rude and impatient. She was pushing me to get surgery but was unable to explain why. When asked questions she seemed very irritated and impatient to get out of the room. Overall - would not recommend her to anyone, very unprofessional and has no bedside manners at all.

Dr mcavoy is an amazing doctor. I originally saw her when I was pregnant a few years ago but had to switch due to health insurance reasons. After I had my baby with a different doctor she came the next day to check on me. As soon as the health insurance issues cleared up I ran back to her. She's prompt. Never a wait to see her. She's always readily accessible. There is no calling some service and waiting for hours for a response. In fact, her responses are instantaneous! She never made me feel rushed, there was never a question I was scared to ask. She is always gentle and calm with a great bedside manner. She just delivered my second baby and she was amazing throughout the whole experience. All while I was screaming like a psycho woman in labor she kept her cool. Throughout my pregnancy I worried about a c section since they seem so common. Got my wish with Dr McAvoy, a vaginal birth!

Dr. McAvoy is the best. She never makes you feel rushed, she REMEMBERS you, and she is very caring. When I was waiting for some not fun test results, she was very proactive in calling the lab and getting answers. She came in to deliver my baby, and made the whole experience very calm. Big snaps.

She was great! I loved that she didn't care how many questions I had and truly made me feel comfortable at every visit. She made things convenient for me with paperwork for my job and was always asking is there anything else that she could help with. Even though she didn't get to deliver my baby bc my baby was a bit early and she was on a scheduled vacation ( which by the way she told me about on my first visit with her, to be clear with me) she did come visit me in the hospital the day after I gave birth, to check on me and to meet my baby. Needless to say I loved her and recommend her to anyone.
